Method and apparatus to fold a sheet of material into a rod for an aerosol generating article
The present invention relates to a method to fold a sheet (11) of material into a rod for an aerosol generating article, the method comprising: providing a central element and plurality of spaced apart walls (14), the spaced apart walls radially extending outwardly from the central element (12) following one another in a circumferential direction, each spaced apart wall defining an end surface (15) separated from the end surfaces of the adjacent walls; transporting the sheet of material and putting it in contact with the end surfaces of the plurality of spaced apart walls so that the sheet of material can partly fold within spaces defined between the spaced apart walls; and inserting the sheet of material into a funnel (16) to form a rod. The present invention also relates to an apparatus (10) to fold a sheet of material into a rod for an aerosol generating article.
MOLDING APPARATUS, CIGARETTE FILTER ROD AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF
A molding apparatus, a cigarette filter rod and a preparation method thereof are disclosed. The molding apparatus comprises a single-screw extrusion system and a cooling setting system. The single-screw extrusion system comprises a feeder and an extruder. The feeder is arranged on the extruder. The extruder comprises a cylinder. A heater is arranged outside the cylinder. A screw is arranged inside the cylinder, and a mouth mold is arranged at one end of the cylinder. The cooling setting system comprises a round tube and a cooler. The cooler (6) is arranged outside the round tube. One end of the round tube is butted with the mouth mold of the extruder; and multiple groups of grooves are formed on threads of the head of the screw.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A GLASS FILTER
A method of manufacturing a filter that includes providing a tube having a cylindrical wall and a hollow interior. The method forms a first indentation within the tube in which a first portion of the of the cylindrical wall concaves into the hollow interior, and forms a second indentation within the tube in which a second portion of the cylindrical wall concaves into the hollow interior. The first and second indentations create 1) a first chamber and a second chamber in the tube that are separated by both indentations and 2) a path within the hollow interior formed between the first and second indentations that fluidly couples both chambers together.
High total denier cellulose acetate tow for hollow filters and non-wrapped filters
Disclosed are cellulose acetate tows, bales, and filter rods having at least 3 denier per filament and at least 50,000 total denier, or at least 6 denier per filament and at least 40,000 total denier, for use as hollow filters, non-wrapped filters, or combinations thereof, in smoking devices and aerosol-generating devices, such as an electrically heated cigarette. The cellulose acetate tow may comprise at least 3-6 denier per filament and may have a total denier of at least 50,000 to 100,000. The cellulose acetate tow comprises at least 6-12 denier per filament and may have a total denier of at least 40,000 to 90,000. The hollow filter may comprise a non-wrapped cellulose acetate hollow filter.
ARTICLE FOR USE IN AN AEROSOL PROVISION SYSTEM
An article for use with a non-combustible aerosol provision device comprising a heater, the article comprising: an aerosol generating material comprising at least one aerosol forming material; and a first tubular body disposed downstream of the aerosol generating material, the first tubular body comprising filamentary tow; and a mouth end section disposed downstream of the first tubular body, wherein the article is configured such that when the article is inserted into the non-combustible aerosol provision device, the minimum distance between the heater of the non-combustible aerosol provision device and the first tubular body is at least about 3 mm. A system and a method of manufacture are also described.
DEVICE FOR FILTERING SMOKE
A device for filtering smoke, in particular tobacco and/or cannabis cigarette filters, comprising a jacket, in which jacket there are provided at least a first portion, a second portion and a third portion, the second portion being arranged between the first portion and the third portion, wherein in the first section a first nonwoven filter material, in the second section a porous filter material, and in the third section a second nonwoven filter material being provided in the third section; wherein a fourth section is provided in the jacket, wherein the third section is arranged between the second section and the fourth section, and wherein the fourth section is arranged such that, when flowing through the jacket, a pressure drop across the fourth section is lower than a pressure drop across the third section.
AEROSOL GENERATING ARTICLE WITH FRONT END PLUG
An aerosol-generating article is provided, including: an aerosol-generating substrate; a downstream section extending from a downstream end of the aerosol-generating substrate to a downstream end of the aerosol-generating article; and an upstream section extending from an upstream end of the aerosol-generating substrate to an upstream end of the aerosol-generating article, a ratio of a resistance-to-draw of the upstream section to a resistance-to-draw of the downstream section being more than 1, and the resistance-to-draw of the upstream section being no more than 150 mm H.sub.2O. An aerosol-generating system including an aerosol-generating device including a heater, and an aerosol-generating article, is also provided.
Apparatus and method for forming a smoke filter
