An oxygen-rich second sump liquid and an argon-enriched second head gas are formed by means of the second separating unit. A liquid return to the second separating unit is provided by means of the third separating unit. A fourth sump liquid and a fourth head gas are formed by means of the fourth separating unit, and the fourth sump liquid is at least partially returned to the second separating unit.
Method and device for generating two purified partial air streams
The invention relates to a method and device for generating two purified partial air streams under different pressures. A total air stream (1) is compressed to a first total air pressure. The compressed total air stream (5) is cooled with cooling water under the first total air pressure by way of heat exchange (4, 6). The heat exchange with cooling water for cooling the total air stream (5) is carried out as a direct heat exchange in a first direct contact cooler (6), at least in part. The cooled total air stream (9) is divided into a first partial air stream (10) and a second partial air stream (11). The first partial air stream (10) is purified in a first purification device (18) under the first total air pressure, generating the first purified partial air stream (19). The second partial air stream (11) is re-compressed to a higher pressure (12), which is higher than the first total air pressure. The re-compressed second partial air stream (14) is cooled with cooling water in a second direct contact cooler (15) by way of direct heat exchange (13, 15). The cooled second partial air stream (17) is purified under the higher pressure in a second purification device (30), thus generating the second purified partial air stream (31).
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR OBTAINING PURE NITROGEN AND PURE OXYGEN BY LOW-TEMPERATURE SEPARATION OF AIR
Feed air is compressed to a first pressure in a main air compressor. A first sub-stream of the air compressed to the first pressure is cooled and fed at least in part to the distillation column system. A second sub-stream of the air compressed to the first pressure is cooled and at least partially liquefied in a low-pressure column bottom evaporator. The at least partially liquefied second sub-stream is introduced at least in part into the distillation column system. A liquid oxygen-enriched fraction is introduced into the evaporation chamber of a high-pressure top condenser. An argon-containing oxygen stream from an intermediate point in the low-pressure column is introduced into an argon column. The second sub-stream is introduced at least in part into an argon top condenser and partially evaporated therein. The second sub-stream is then introduced at least in part into the high-pressure column and/or into the low-pressure column.
Apparatus for the production of low pressure gaseous oxygen
An apparatus for the production of low pressure gaseous oxygen includes a heat exchanger and a system of columns comprised of an auxiliary column, a higher pressure column and a lower pressure column. The LP column and the HP column are thermally integrated via a top reboiler/condenser disposed on top of the HP column. The system of columns is configured to separate a cooled air stream into oxygen and nitrogen. The auxiliary column comprises a distillation section and a first and second reboiler. One of the reboilers is driven by the cooled air stream and the other reboiler is driven by a pressurized nitrogen stream. The first and second reboilers boil their fluids at the same pressure as the auxiliary column.
STRUCTUAL SUPPORT ASSEMBLY FOR COLD BOX STRUCTURES IN AN AIR SEPARATION UNIT
A pre-fabricated or shop-built structural support assembly cold box structures containing distillation columns or other cold box equipment in an air separation unit is provided.
Method for the production of low pressure gaseous oxygen
A method for the production of low pressure gaseous oxygen includes providing a system of distillation columns and a heat exchanger, wherein the system of columns comprises a lower pressure column, a higher pressure column, an auxiliary column, the auxiliary column having a distillation section, a first reboiler, and a second reboiler, wherein the LP column and the HP column are thermally integrated via a top reboiler/condenser disposed on top of the HP column. A cooled air stream is rectified within the system of columns such that the auxiliary column produces a cold oxygen fluid that is then warmed in the heat exchanger to produce a low pressure oxygen product. The cooled air stream provides reboiling duty for the first reboiler prior to rectification within the system of columns, and a compressed nitrogen stream received from a cold end of the heat exchanger provides reboiling duty for the second reboiler.

A system and method serve generate oxygen by low-temperature air separation in a distillation column system having a high-pressure column and a low-pressure column, a main condenser which is constructed as a condenser-evaporator, and an auxiliary column. A gaseous oxygen-containing fraction is introduced into the auxiliary column. A nitrogen-containing liquid stream from the high-pressure column, the main condenser or the low-pressure column is applied as reflux to the top of the auxiliary column. An argon-rich stream from an intermediate site of the low-pressure column is introduced into an argon removal column that has an argon removal column top condenser. The low-pressure column is arranged beside the high-pressure column, the main condenser is arranged over the high-pressure column, the auxiliary column is arranged over the main condenser, the argon removal column is arranged over the auxiliary column and the argon removal column top condenser is arranged over the argon removal column.
