CELLULOSE ACETATE COMPOSITION FOR THERMOFORMING, MOLDED ARTICLE, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING CELLULOSE ACETATE COMPOSITION FOR THERMOFORMING
An object of the present invention is to provide a cellulose acetate composition for thermoforming with excellent biodegradability and excellent thermoformability. A cellulose acetate composition for thermoforming containing a cellulose acetate and a glycerin ester-based plasticizer, wherein the cellulose acetate has a degree of acetyl substitution of 1.4 or greater and 2.0 or less, a compositional distribution index (CDI) of 4.0 or less, and a total sulfur content of 15 mg/kg or greater and less than 150 mg/kg:
Polymer composition comprising basic additive, process and articles comprising said polymer composition
The present invention relates to polymer compositions comprising at least one basic additive, and processes comprising at least one process step to obtain the polymer composition or articles comprising the polymer composition. The polymer composition generally displays an enhanced biodegradability.
PAPER CAVITY FILTER
A tobacco smoke filter or filter element comprising: a longitudinally extending core which includes a paper or other non-cellulose acetate containing filtering material and a wrapper engaged around the longitudinally extending core wherein the filter or filter element is readily biodegradable and wherein; the longitudinally extending core includes two plugs of paper or other non-cellulose acetate containing filtering material distanced longitudinally from each other and the wrapper engaged around the plugs of paper or other non-cellulose acetate containing filtering material defines a cavity between the plugs of paper or other non-cellulose acetate containing filtering material; and/or at least one end of the wrapper extends beyond the end of the longitudinally extending core around which is engaged to define a cavity or recess at the end of the filter.
DEGRADABLE CELLULOSE ACETATE TOW BAND COMPRISING A FILLER
Disclosed herein is a tow band comprising cellulose acetate and a filler. The filler may be selected to have a degradation rate greater than that of the cellulose acetate. The tow band may be bloomed and formed into a filter rod, which may then be incorporated into a cigarette filter. The tow, tow band, and filter structures described herein degrade more rapidly than other known tow, tow bands, and filter structures.
AEROSOL GENERATING ARTICLES COMPRISING ORGANIC ACIDS
An aerosol generating article includes a first portion including an organic acid, a second portion including a nicotine freebase, a third portion including a cooling material, and a fourth portion including a filter material, wherein a nicotine salt is generated through an acid-base reaction of the organic acid and nicotine freebase that are vaporized by heating.
Lyocell material for tobacco filter
A lyocell material for a cigarette filter and a method of manufacturing the same are disclose. The lyocell material which is biodegradable and eco-friendly can be manufactured by crimping lyocell multifilaments to obtain a crimped tow.
Degradable cellulose ester
Disclosed herein is a degradable cellulose ester. The cellulose ester may be formed into tow for use in cigarette filters or into articles, such as molded articles. A basic material, an enzymatic material, or combinations thereof is included in the cellulose ester in order to degrade the cellulose ester.
TOBACCO SMOKE FILTER
A tobacco smoke filter or filter element including a nonwoven fabric, wherein the nonwoven fabric comprises: a sheet of staple fibres; and a water soluble binder; wherein the water soluble binder is uniformly coated on at least one face of the sheet of staple fibres. The filter has superior biodegradability.
TOBACCO ROD, AEROSOL-GENERATING ARTICLE INCLUDING THE SAME, AND AEROSOL GENERATION DEVICE USED THEREWITH
A tobacco rod, an aerosol-generating article including the same, and an aerosol generation device used with the aerosol-generating article are provided. The tobacco rod according to some embodiments of the present disclosure may include a first filter segment, a second filter segment, and a cavity segment which is formed by the first filter segment and the second filter segment and filled with a tobacco material. Here, at least one of the first filter segment and the second filter segment may include a paper material that is grease-resistant or water-resistant. Accordingly, a problem that vapor production is decreased due to moisture absorption from components of smoke can be addressed, and a heat-resistant tobacco rod can be manufactured.
AEROSOL-GENERATING ARTICLE HAVING BIODEGRADABLE FILTRATION MATERIAL
There is provided an aerosol-generating article (10) comprising an aerosol-generating substrate (12) and a filter (14) in axial alignment with the aerosol-generating substrate (12). The filter (14) comprises at least one segment of filtration material formed of one or more sheets of a fibrous paper-like material. The fibrous paper-like material comprises a combination of hydrophobic fibres and hydrophilic fibres such that the fibrous paper-like material has a water contact angle as measured in accordance with TAPPI/ANSI T 558 om-15 greater than 90 degrees. Further, the fibrous paper material has a biodegradability in aqueous medium as tested in accordance with ISO 14851 (2005) of at least 90 percent of the maximum degradation of a cellulose reference item within 56 days of testing. In addition, the hydrophobic fibres comprise hydrophobic viscose fibres.
