A gear-driven bearing unit comprising a housing, a drive gear and a rolling element bearing The rolling element bearing comprising: an outer member with teeth for meshing with drive gear teeth, an inner member and rolling elements between the inner and outer members. At one axial side, the housing is connected to the inner member enclosing the outer member. A first radial gap extends between an outer member radially inner surface and an inner member radially outer surface. A second radial gap exists between an outer member radially outer surface and a housing radially inner surface. The radial gaps are sealed by seals, each comprising radial sealing lips. The unit is lubricated with a grease comprising a calcium-based thickener or calcium salt additives and the teeth on the outer member are made of a hardening treated bearing-grade steel which diffuses nitrogen into the surface of the teeth.

In a thrust washer for the axial securing of rolling elements of a bearing, and a gear mechanism including a thrust washer, the thrust washer is arranged as a circular disk, which has an axially protruding, in particular radially outer, projection. The circular disk has a recess, which is disposed out of center, i.e., the center point of the, e.g., circular recess thus particularly being set apart from the center axis and/or from the center point of the circular disk. The projection may have an annular shape, and the ring axis is set apart from the center point of the, e.g., circular recess.

The magnetic sensor is inserted into the sensor attachment hole in the cover through the opening (11A). The bottom (11B) in the sensor attachment hole is formed in such a shape as to bulge toward the inner side.

The radially outer ring is held in position with respect to the knuckle by a stop ring, positioned on the axially inner side of the radially outer ring in a seat formed on the radially outer ring.

The boot further includes a boot lip that is formed at one end or both ends of the band seat and protrudes toward the knuckle.
