20200056668 · 2020-02-20 ·

A brake caliper is fastened to a stationary brake carrier by two fastening elements such that the caliper can slide axially relative to the brake disc. The fastening elements each have a guide bar fixedly connected to the brake carrier, of which guide bars, one guide bar is guided as a fixed bearing and the other guide bar is guided in a plain bearing, which is designed as a floating bearing having a floating bearing axis. The floating bearing has a guide bush, which reaches around the guide bar and is retained in a caliper bore such that sliding is prevented. A first tubular, variable-length seal is arranged on the end region of the guide bar far from the brake disc, which seals the guide bar from the environment and is fastened on the guide bar and in the guide bush. The first tubular, variable-length seal is clamped on the guide bar by a cap pressed into the guide bar. The first tubular, variable-length seal has a ring section, which is inserted in a peripheral groove between a covering section, a collar, and a section of an outer surface. The ring section is retained by the section of the outer surface such that the ring section is secured in the radially inward direction with respect to the floating bearing axis. The ring section is retained by the covering section such that the ring section is secured in the radially outward direction with respect to the floating bearing axis.

A floating caliper brake is shown including a first metal section fastened non-positively to a guiding element and is-arranged in a recess so that, in a first position, a first section of the first metal section rests in an axial direction, with positive engagement, against a first section of a wall, which defines the recess, on a first side of a limiting element, wherein, in a second position, in which the first metal section and the first section of the wall are arranged at a distance from one another in the axial direction, a first elastomer section is deformed elastically such that a spring force acts on the first metal section-in an axial direction and towards the first section of the wall, and wherein, when the spring force is equal to or greater than a predetermined non-positive engagement force threshold, the non-positive connection between the first metal section and the guiding element is cancelled, resulting in that the first metal section moves relative to the guiding element in the axial direction, and when the spring force is less than the predetermined non-positive engagement force threshold, the non-positive connection between the first metal section and the guiding element is re-established.

Disclosed are a boot for a caliper brake and the caliper brake including the same. The boot, which is provided to be installed on a guide rod to allow a caliper housing to be slidably coupled to a carrier during braking, includes a first coupling part coupled to the guide rod at one end thereof, and a second coupling part coupled to the carrier at the other end thereof, wherein the second coupling part is provided with an elastic protrusion provided to be in contact with an outer surface of the guide rod so that a reaction force is generated by the guide rod moving together with the caliper housing during braking.

Disc brake and method of producing the disc brake

Provided is a disc brake which solves, with a simple structure, the issue of interference between a carrier and an electric motor. A carder 3 applied to the disc brake includes a recess 28 in one arm 18 of the pair of arms 18 and 19 which recess is casted so as to be recessed in a direction toward a line, which is parallel to a tangent line L3 tangent to an the pin hole boss 16 on one side and perpendicular to a line segment L1 connecting centers of the pair of pin holes (pin hole bosses 16, 16) and extends through the center of the pin hole on the one side, with respect to the tangent line L3. This makes it possible to prevent or reduce the interference between the carrier 3 and the electric motor, with a simple structure.

A disc brake assembly for a motor vehicle braking system comprising a backing plate which has at least one borehole that defines a first longitudinal axis, and a guide pin which is arranged in the borehole and is designed to movably mount the brake caliper relative to the backing plate, wherein the guide pin defines a second longitudinal axis and the disc brake assembly further comprises a protective bellows which at least partially surrounds the regions of the guide pin that project from the borehole. The protective bellows has a guide section which is designed to displaceably guide the guide pin in such a way that the second longitudinal axis of the guide pin is offset relative to the first longitudinal axis of the borehole.

Bushing for brake caliper guide rod fasteners

A vehicle disc brake assembly includes a brake caliper. The brake caliper has a lug through which a bore extends, the bore having an axis. A guide rod fastener extends through the bore and is secured to a guide rod. An elastic bushing is in the bore between the lug and the guide rod fastener, wherein a circumference of the bushing contacts the lug. A radial clearance is between the lug and the guide rod fastener. The radial clearance is perpendicular to the axis.

Utility vehicle disk brake

A utility vehicle disk brake includes a vehicle-mounted brake carrier that partially surrounds a brake disk, and a brake caliper that is arranged on and partially covers the brake carrier. Sliding guides allow the brake caliper to slide relative to the brake carrier perpendicularly to a friction surface of the brake disk. A first one of the sliding guides is designed as a fixed bearing, and a second one of the sliding guides is designed as a floating bearing. At least the floating bearing is designed as a slotted guide having a guideway that runs in the sliding direction of the brake caliper as well as a first guiding element that is accommodated in the guideway.
