ROTATIONAL FIXING FOR A GUIDE PIN OF A DISC BRAKE AND METHOD THEREOF

A rotational fixing for a guide pin of a disc brake and method for fixing a guide pin of a disc brake. The rotational fixing includes a guide sleeve having a sleeve portion, a receiving portion of a brake carrier, and an inter-connection. The receiving portion receives the sleeve portion. The inter-connection engages the sleeve portion and the receiving portion and restricts rotation of the guide sleeve relative to the brake carrier when the sleeve portion is received by the receiving portion.

CALIPER GUIDE ASSEMBLY

A caliper guide assembly for a heavy vehicle disc brake. The caliper guide assembly may include a wear sensor arranged to detect the position of a guide pin in relation to a guide bore. The guide pin and a guide surface may have different cross sectional profiles to define at least one void therebetween. The wear sensor may be at least partially accommodated within the void.

Sealing arrangement for a sliding caliper

Sealing means are disclosed for preventing the ingress of water and dirt between a brake caliper and the carrier guide pin. At the end of the guide pin facing away from the brake carrier, a retaining clip holds a sealing bead of a sealing boot at least partially within an axial bore of the guide pin. At the end of the guide pin which faces towards the carrier, a sealing boot is provided seated on a ring which in turn is attached to the caliper. The other end of the sealing boot is attached to the guide pin, in a space between the guide pin and the ring. The sealing means at either end are compact, and provide effective sealing where there is not enough space to provide known sealing means.

Disc brake for a utility vehicle

A disc brake for a commercial vehicle includes a caliper that straddles a brake disc and is retained on a stationary brake carrier in such a way as to be axially movable in relation to the brake disc on two guide bars connected to the brake carrier. The guide bars are each guided in a sliding bearing that is non-movably retained in a bore of the caliper. The disc brake is designed such that at least one of the sliding bearings is made up of at least two metal sleeves, which rest against the guide bar and are located at a distance from one another in the axial direction, and at least one spacing sleeve located there between.

Hub unit having a brake disc

A hub unit has a brake disc and a hub body disposed to rotate with a rim on which a tire is mounted. An internal space is formed in the hub body, wherein the brake disc is fixed in the internal space. A fixed shaft is disposed and fixed along a rotation center shaft of the hub body. A brake shoe is coupled to the fixed shaft. A brake pad is disposed to contact the brake disc. A braking force applier supplies a braking force to the hub body wherein the brake pad and the brake disc are in contact with each other.

Multiple function brake caliper guide pin

A multiple function brake caliper guide pin for use with a wireless transmitter to transmit brake wear data is disclosed. The pin is part of a brake assembly that includes a brake caliper, a caliper yoke for supporting the caliper in relation to the rotor, opposed brake pads, a wear sensor, and a brake wear sensing assembly comprising a brake caliper guide pin and a wireless transmitter system. The guide pin may be either of a two-piece or a one-piece design and includes a transmitter system attachment end and a yoke attachment end. The transmitter system includes a sensor for sensing brake pad wear and a wireless transmitter for transmitting the sensed wear to a receiver in the vehicle. The sensor may include a tether attached to a brake pad or may include a transmitter and magnet assembly fitted to one or the other of the caliper or the yoke.

ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE

A parking brake for a wheel rotor having a brake pad associated therewith includes a housing defining first and second passages. First and second pistons are provided in the respective first and second passages. Spindles are threadably connected with each piston. An electromagnetic locking mechanism provided between the spindles having a first magnetic polarity for placing the locking mechanism in a first condition allowing relative rotation between the spindles and the pistons such that the pistons are axially movable within the passages and into engagement with the brake pad in response to hydraulic pressure applied to the pistons. The electromagnetic locking mechanism has a second magnetic polarity for placing the locking mechanism in a second condition preventing relative rotation between the spindles and the pistons such that the pistons remain engaged with the brake pad when hydraulic fluid pressure is removed from the pistons.
