A metallic support of a brake pad delimited between a first and a second face, and having a perimeter edge substantially perpendicular to the first and second faces. The first face receives a block or layer of friction material, and the second face receives a dampening element. The first face has at least one projecting part extending cantilevered spaced apart from the perimeter edge so as to be completely embedded within the block or layer of friction material. The at least one projecting part is delimited at the top by a first surface upon which there is at least one first cavity filled with the block or layer of friction material. The second face has at least one second cavity forged as the at least one projecting part. At the at least one first cavity, there is at least one first relief shaped as the at least one first cavity.

FRICTION LINING ASSEMBLY HAVING A RESTORING SPRING FOR LIMITING CLEARANCE FOR A MOTOR-VEHICLE PARTIALLY LINED DISK BRAKE

A friction lining assembly having a backing plate and a sheet metal restoring spring fixed thereto, for a partially lined sliding-caliper type disk brake having a brake holder fixed with respect to the vehicle, on which friction lining assemblies arranged on both sides of a brake disk are slidably guided. A housing, which extends over the brake disk and the friction lining assemblies, is slidably mounted on the brake holder. The restoring spring is clamped axially between the brake holder and the friction lining assembly by at least one spring leg and applies a release clearance to the friction lining assembly. The spring leg extends over a hammer-head- shaped claw of the backing plate. The spring leg is plastically deformable in a defined manner under braking actuation as a result of a reduction in the friction-material thickness in order to impose a constantly dimensioned release clearance on the friction lining assembly.

BRAKE PAD

A brake pad for a heavy vehicle disc brake. The brake pad may include a layer of friction material and first and second resilient arms. The first and second resilient arms may be arranged to contact first and second corresponding pad abutment structures to urge the brake pad away from a rotor when the brake pad is urged towards the rotor during application of the brake.
