TORSION BRAKE RETRACTOR, CALIPER AND METHOD
A brake pad retractor system, comprising, a torsional mount and a torsion arm having an angular relation with the torsional mount, wherein the torsion arm is sprung responsively to at least some movement of a brake pad and the torsional mount being operative such that upon movement of a brake pad by a first distance, the torsion arm is sprung and communicates an action upon the brake pad through a contact between the torsion arm and the brake pad, the communicated action sufficient to positively retract the brake pad upon release of the brake system, the torsional mount further operative such that upon further movement of a brake pad beyond the first distance the angular relation between the torsion arm and the torsional mount is adjusted responsively to the further movement. Further aspects include a novel a brake caliper and method.
PAD CLIP, ASSEMBLY OF PAD CLIP AND RETURN SPRING, AND FLOATING TYPE DISC BRAKE
A pad clip for a disc brake includes: a radial pressing portion which is disposed at inward than a clamping portion in a radial direction and presses outward in the radial direction an ear portion; a circumferential pressing portion which extends outward in the radial direction from a radially outer side portion of the clamping portion, an intermediate portion thereof being folded back inward in radial and circumferential directions of the rotor, and a tip end portion thereof pressing the pad inward in the circumferential direction; and a spring holding portion which protrudes outward in the circumferential direction from the radially outer side portion of the clamping portion than a base portion of the circumferential pressing portion, and holds a return spring which is made of wire material and presses the pad away from the rotor in an axial direction of the rotor.
FLEXIBLE MOUNTING OF FRICTION LINING ELEMENTS IN BRAKE LININGS
To provide a brake lining for a disc brake of a vehicle, in which at least one friction lining element is arranged movably relative to the backing plate and to this end the at least one friction lining element is arranged on the backing plate by means of a spring system, with a particularly favourable force-deflection behaviour, a high degree of damping and a stable thermal behaviour, it is proposed for the spring system to have a plurality of spring elements or to consist of a plurality of spring elements.
BRAKE PAD RETRACTION DEVICE
A brake assembly comprising: (a) a caliper; (b) two or more brake pads; (c) one or more pins connecting each the two or more brake pads to the caliper; (d) a retraction device connected to one or more of the one or more pins, the retraction devices including: (i) a lock that connects to an end of the pin opposite a caliper; and (ii) a bias device located between the lock and one of the two or more brake pads; wherein during a brake apply each of the two or more brake pads are moved towards the respective retraction device compressing the bias device between the lock and one of the two or more brake pad so that upon release of the brake apply the retraction device applies a retraction force to the one of the two or more brake pads.
Caliper for disc brake
A caliper for disc brake comprising a caliper body housing at least one pair of pads disposed on opposite sides along an axial direction and comprising at least one thrust piston which interfaces with the pad so as to press it against the associable brake disc, and at least one return spring that exerts a return thrust on the support plate of the pad. The return spring comprises a fixing portion to the caliper body that extends from axially opposite sides in separate thrust branches, each thrust branch interfacing with a support plate of a related pad. Each thrust branch comprises a first rectilinear portion that extends towards the corresponding pad, a curved portion, integral with the first rectilinear portion and folded in approach to the fixing portion, a second rectilinear portion that extends from the curved portion in approach to the fixing portion. The second rectilinear portion terminates with a free cantilevered end and interfaces with an edge of the support plate.
DISC BRAKE, IN PARTICULAR FOR UTILITY VEHICLES
A disc brake for utility vehicles includes a brake disc, a first brake lining on a first side of the brake disc and a second brake lining on a second side of the brake disc opposite the first side. A spreading device is also provided which generates a force that moves the first and the second brake lining away from one another.
Caliper for disc brake
The invention relates to a caliper for disc brake comprising a caliper body which defines a housing compartment for an associated brake disc and houses at least one pair of pads arranged on opposite sides of the housing compartment along an axial direction. The caliper body comprises at least one thrust piston axially operable against the pad, at least one axial guide which supports and guides the pad in the axial direction and a first thrust spring which exerts a thrust on the pad. Said thrust has a first axial component, axially directed in a direction of approach to the pistons, and a first radial component, perpendicular to the axial direction. Advantageously, the caliper body comprises at least one compensation spring which exerts an axial thrust on the pad in a direction of approach to the pistons. The second axial component annuls the momentum given by the friction force exchanged between the pad and the axial guide with respect to the point of application of the first axial component on the pad.
