Disclosed is a caliper brake apparatus. The caliper brake apparatus includes: a housing that includes a piston capable of moving straight; a carrier that is combined with the housing and mounted on a vehicle such that a disc of the vehicle is positioned therein; a pair of pad plates that is brought in close contact with the disc by straight movement of the piston; and a pair of guides that couple the pad plates and the carrier to each other, in which the pad plates each may have a sliding groove at both sides and the guides each have elastic members that can slide along the sliding grooves. Accordingly, it is possible to ensure sufficient gaps between a disc of a vehicle and the pad plates when the pad plates are separated from the disc after being strongly pressed to the disc of a vehicle.

Disc brake pad retention system and mounting method

An apparatus and method are provided for suppressing undesired brake pad motion during brake application, and for installing and removing brake pads utilizing the inventive arrangements. One embodiment of the invention includes brake pads and a carrier mount having complementary surface features that retain the brake pad when the brake pad is in its installed position and a brake pad biasing structure that biases the brake pad in the radially outward direction to bias contact faces of the mount horn and the brake pad against one another to suppress brake pad kick and vibration and related wear and component fatigue.

DISC BRAKE CALIPER EMPLOYING A SPRING TO INFLUENCE PADS ACTING ON THE DISC OF THE DISC BRAKE

The invention relates to a disc brake caliper (100) comprising: a caliper body (10) placed astride the disc of a disc brake, fitted with a pair of half-bodies (11, 12) connected to each other by means of a first and a second end bridge (20, 21) adapted to delimit a central aperture (22) of the caliper body (10), and by means of a first (13) and a second (14) connection bridge placed astride the disc of the disc brake at such a central aperture (22). A disc brake assembly arranged to be mounted over a rotor. The disc brake assembly includes first and second brake pads, a caliper having an opening for receiving the first and second brake pads, and a spring member for retaining the pads within the caliper. The pressing device includes: a first pressing member movable toward a rotation disc; a second pressing member movable away from the rotation disc; a frame; and an electric actuator that moves the first pressing member and the second pressing member. The electric actuator includes: a two-axis motor including a stator having coils and having a substantially cylindrical shape, an inner rotor, and an outer rotor; a first motion converter that converts rotation of the inner rotor to linear movement to transmit the linear movement to the first pressing member; and a second motion converter that converts rotation of the outer rotor to linear movement to transmit the linear movement to the second pressing member.

A spring device for a disc brake, a pad and spring assembly for a disc brake, a brake caliper, and a disc brake is described. The spring device may have a spring body having prevalently longitudinal development, with at least one coupling portion, to couple in a snapping manner the spring device to a portion of an associable brake caliper in a removable manner. The spring pad assembly may have at least one brake pad having at least one ramp surface, inclined with respect to the radial direction and to the tangential direction, which forms an abutment reference for the at least one thrust surface of the spring device. The at least one ramp surface of the support plate puts in traction the spring device.

VEHICLE DISC BRAKE

The present invention is a vehicle disc brake for which incorrect installation of a friction pad can be prevented with a simple structure. The disc brake is provided with incorrect installation-preventing parts with which, if a friction pad (4) is installed with an incorrect installation orientation when a pair of tabs (10, 11) provided on the disc entry-side and disc exit-side of the back plate (4d) of a friction pad (4) is installed into pad guide grooves (9) formed on a caliper body (3) , the tabs bump into the caliper body (3) and prevent the incorrect installation. The incorrect installation-preventing parts are formed from caliper-side recesses (9d, 9e), which are formed in the pad guide grooves (9) towards the center of the caliper body, and tab-side protrusions (10a, 11a), which have shapes that correspond to the caliper-side recesses (9d, 9e).
