Probe unit and measuring system

In a probe unit having a measuring probe, a signal processing circuit includes: a signal synthesizing portion configured to process an output of a detection element to output a composite signal obtained by synthesizing displacement components of a contact part in three directions perpendicular to one another; and a signal outputting portion configured to output a digital touch signal to the outside of the probe unit when the composite signal satisfies a predetermined threshold condition. The signal outputting portion includes three comparing portions each configured to compare a threshold condition with the composite signal. When the measuring probe measures the object to be measured, the signal outputting portion outputs the digital touch signal corresponding to outputs of the first and second comparing portions. Thus, there can be provided a probe unit and a measuring system that can stably make measurements with high accuracy while keeping high noise resistance.

The hub gauge device allows a user to quickly and accurately determine the precise center of a bicycle hub by placing the bicycle hub into a hub gauge device in a horizontal orientation. Once the center is determined, one or more relevant hub dimensions may be determined. The hub gauge device includes an adjustable hub rest having a first support and a second support, allowing the user to place the bicycle hub into the hub gauge device so that one hub axle is supported by the first support and the second hub axle is supported by the second support. The first support and the second support are each adjustably connected to a gear assembly, allowing for coordinated movement of the supports in relation to a fixed center point of the hub gauge device; in other words, the first support and the second support move in concert and thus remain equidistant to the fixed center point. Once the user has placed the bicycle hub into the adjustable hub rest, the gear assembly facilitates automatic centering of the bicycle hub within the hub gauge device and thus a precise center point of the bicycle hub is indicated by the center point marked on the fixed indicator. Once the center of the bicycle hub is determined, other dimensions relevant to bicycle repair, including flange-to-center dimensions, pitch circle or flange diameters, or spoke hole diameters, may be read and/or calculated.

Femoral head measurement device

A measurement device is provided for measuring a resected femoral head. The device comprises a base (102) with a support rod (104) extending transversely from the base and extending in a direction corresponding to a height of a resected femoral head. A femoral head support (108) is attached to a base proximate an end of the support rod (104) for supporting a severed end of a femoral head at a selected incline between about 30° and 60° relative to the base such that a height of the resected femoral head extends in the general direction of the support rod. A transverse height indicating arm (120) is adjustable up the height of the support rod (104) so as to measure the height of a resected femoral head (106) positioned on the femoral head support in use. The transverse height indicating arm (120) may carry adjustable offset indicating arm (122).

Femoral head measurement device

A measurement device is provided for measuring a resected femoral head. The device comprises a base (102) with a support rod (104) extending transversely from the base and extending in a direction corresponding to a height of a resected femoral head. A femoral head support (108) is attached to a base proximate an end of the support rod (104) for supporting a severed end of a femoral head at a selected incline between about 30° and 60° relative to the base such that a height of the resected femoral head extends in the general direction of the support rod. A transverse height indicating arm (120) is adjustable up the height of the support rod (104) so as to measure the height of a resected femoral head (106) positioned on the femoral head support in use. The transverse height indicating arm (120) may carry adjustable offset indicating arm (122).

ENCODER AND DETECTION HEAD OF ENCODER

An object is to respectively excite transmission coils with different voltages using a single power supply with low power consumption in an electromagnetic induction type encoder.

A detection head of an encoder includes a voltage adjustment circuit and a plurality of excitation circuits. The excitation circuit includes a resonant circuit that includes a driving capacitor and a transmission coil connected in series and generates an alternate-current magnetic field inducing currents in scale coils disposed in a plurality of scale tracks on a scale by connecting both ends of the resonant circuit in a state in which the driving capacitor is charged. The voltage adjustment circuit includes a first transformer capacitor and controls a charging voltage of the driving capacitor in a single excitation circuit using the charged first transformer capacitor.

Methods and apparatus to count people are disclosed. Example apparatus disclosed herein include means for discarding existing characteristic datasets from a list; means for populating the list with first characteristic datasets obtained from a first plurality of images representative of an environment during a first period of time of a media presentation; means for limiting a number of the first characteristic datasets stored in the list for a first location represented in the first plurality of images; and means for comparing the first characteristic datasets to each other to determine a first number of unique faces in the environment during the first period of time, wherein the means for discarding is to delete the first characteristic datasets from the list, and the means for populating is to re-populate the list with second characteristic datasets obtained from a second plurality of images representative of the environment.
