Bow center shot calibration device
A conveniently portable archery device and a method for calibrating the center shot of a bow using the outer sidewall of a riser as a reference point, and without requiring attachment of the device to the bow. The device may easily and quickly allow the transverse position of the bow string to be marked, and also allow the position of the arrow rest to be adjusted so that an arrow may be correctly centered along its length with respect to the bowstring for more accurate firing. In one embodiment, the device is an improvement of a bow square article that in addition to being used to measure the nock point and brace height, equalize the tiller distances, and measure the peep sight, may also assist in calibrating center shot.
BRAKE-SHOE TOOL FOR USE WITH BRAKE-SHOE LINING
A brake-shoe tool is for use with a brake-shoe lining. The brake-shoe tool includes an elongated rigid linear shaft assembly and a plurality of rigid flat plate members each rotatably mounted to the elongated rigid linear shaft assembly. Each of the rigid flat plate members includes a flat planar surface in rotating contact arrangement with a neighboring instance of the flat planar surface. A free end extends from the flat planar surface. The free end presents an elongated edge having a unique length. The elongated edge is configured to be positioned adjacent to a thickness of the brake-shoe lining in such a way that each instance of the elongated edge is positionable to and visually comparable against the thickness of the brake-shoe lining.

Multi-instrument calibration standard
A calibration standard includes a base and an outside measurement gage block disposed in a recess of the base such that edges and calibration surfaces of the outside measurement gage block are protected by the base and allow access to the calibration surfaces by a caliper. A method for calibrating calipers using the calibration standard is also provided.

Measuring device with calibration
A measuring device for in-process measurement of test pieces during a machining operation on a machine tool, in particular a grinding machine, has a base body, and a measuring head movable between a neutral position and a measuring position and which is connected to the base body via a rod assembly which is configured and set up in such a way that the measuring head in the measuring position follows orbital rotations of a test piece about a rotational axis. The measuring head has a measuring sensor which is deflectable along a linear axis for recording measured values during a measuring operation. A control apparatus is provided for controlling the measuring operation. The control apparatus is configured and set up in such a way that the measuring device may be calibrated in a calibration mode.
Operation accuracy measuring method
An operation accuracy measuring method for measuring the operation accuracy of a linear motion mechanism includes the steps of placing on a support table a measuring jig having a flat lower surface, a parallel surface opposite and parallel to the lower surface, and a slanted surface joined to the parallel surface through a straight boundary line, adjusting the position of the measuring jig to allow the white light interferometer to observe the parallel surface and the slanted surface simultaneously, capturing images of the parallel surface and the slanted surface with the white light interferometer and observing changes in interference fringes appearing in image sections of the captured images that represent the parallel surface and the slanted surface while the support table is being linearly moved, and the step of deducing the operation accuracy of the linear motion mechanism on the basis of the observed changes in the interference fringes.

Apparatus for documenting stair dimensional uniformity
An apparatus for documenting stair dimensional uniformity which measures variations in riser heights and tread depths in a constructed stair. Improved rule stops are attachable to a carpenter's square at positions corresponding to required step dimensions. In operation, the apparatus is self-standing while being supported by and spanning between the upper and lower nosing of a step. A tread variance indicator and riser variance indicator display the amount of variance from required dimensions. A stable nosing locator identifies the portion of a rounded or beveled nosing that may be included in a tread depth measurement. The variance indicators and stable nosing locator are positioned to facilitate photographic documentation.
SYSTEMS, APPARATUSES, AND METHODS FOR ENHANCING DIMENSIONAL VERIFICATION OF TEST SPECIMENS
An embodiment of a dimension verification gauge and related methods to enhance dimensional verification of a corrosion test specimen, may include a gauge body at least partially defining a gauge body outer surface. The dimension verification gauge further may include one or more gauge recesses in the gauge body outer surface. The one or more gauge recesses may have (a) a recess perimeter at least partially defining a recess opening and (b) a recess depth. One or more of (a) the recess perimeter or (b) the recess depth, may have a size corresponding to one of a minimum dimension or a maximum dimension, and the one or more of the minimum dimension or the maximum dimension may correspond to a predetermined dimension specification for the corrosion test specimen. A method for verifying dimensions of a corrosion test specimen may include observing a relative fit between a corrosion test specimen and a gauge recess.
