Shaft roundness gauge
10145667 · 2018-12-04 ·

A shaft roundness gauge measures the roundness (or lack thereof) of a surface such as a bearing surface of a shaft or axle of a truck, tractor or trailer. The gauge comprehends a plurality of specifically sized rings or collars having inner diameters which correspond to common outside diameters of shafts, axles and other circular or cylindrical components. The ring includes a radial opening which receives a collet fitting which receives a probe housing of a dial indicator. A collet clamp may be tightened to secure the dial indicator to the ring. The ring and dial indicator are positioned on a shaft, at that position where the shaft or component is believed to be least worn. The dial indicator is zeroed and then the assembly is rotated around the shaft or component to determine, by the reading of the dial indicator, the location of and the extent of wear of the shaft or component.

Multi-functional Knitting Tool Bracelet

A multi-functional knitting tool bracelet is disclosed. The invention is comprised of a bracelet assembly worn around the wrist of a user and is configured with a plurality of linked, square members having imperial and metric graduations and indicia. Said members having various apertures to cut yarn, receive crochet needles of differing diameters as well as stitch markers therein. One end of the aforementioned bracelet having apertures adapted to receive and selectively secure a crochet hook and a tapestry needleand another end configured with a counting mechanism to record stitches and rows heretofore. The bracelet is joined around a user's wrist by means of an adjustable, magnetic clasp. Objectives of the invention include aiding the process of knitting, crocheting, quilting, tapestry projects and the like by having popular tools within reach at all times. Specifically, an onboard ruler enhances measuring and can be laid flat against a fabric or substrate; the apertures allow for proper needle selection based on gauge diameter; additional apertures hold stitch markers at the ready; apertures on one end store extra needles and hooks; and a distal end houses flush, counting disks that can be turned with the fingers such that they keep track of stitches and rows etc. Having these onboard tools allows a user to work more efficiently by minimizing pauses normally associated with having to reach for commonly used equipment.

A sizing forceps is provided for fixing a nerve in place, measuring the diameter of the nerve, and providing an efficient way to resect the nerve. A sizing forceps can have an upper and lower jaw with one or more aligned notches that form apertures for holding a nerve. The apertures can have predetermined sizes that can be used to measure the diameter of a nerve. A slicing slot in the upper and lower jaw allows a nerve within an aperture to be severed to obtain a non-frayed end.

RING SIZING DEVICE

Methods and devices for ring sizing are described, including a ring sizing device that may be affixed to a platform, that allows users to evaluate ring sizes. The ring sizing device may include a stationary panel and a movable panel, where the stationary panel may include a bottom portion configured to be affixed to a mounting platform and a top portion having a top edge with one or more semicircular-shaped notches. The movable panel may be coupled with the stationary panel and configured to move relative to the stationary panel. The bottom edge of the movable panel also may include one or more semicircular-shaped notches and the combination of the panels may form one or more ring sizing holes that have an associated first height when the movable panel is in the first position and a larger second height when the movable panel is in the second position.

Roller chain wear gauge

Devices and methods for measuring roller chain wear are provided. A roller chain wear gauge may include an elongated structure configured to be inserted into a gap between two roller links of a chain joined by a pin link of the chain, the chain having an associated chain size. The elongated structure may include a first side surface, a second side surface, a length extending along a longitudinal axis of the elongated structure, and a plurality of widths located along the length and defined by and between the first and second side surfaces. The first side surface may extend at an angle relative to the longitudinal axis such that the plurality of widths continuously tapers over the length. The plurality of widths may be calibrated against a reference chain representative of the associated chain size.

Validating parts using a number of contiguous coupons produced from part excess

A method and a check fixture is presented. A part having a number of contiguous coupons is processed using an automated tool. Geometry of the number of contiguous coupons is inspected to produce inspection results. The part is validated using the inspection results.

MEASUREMENT TOOL WITH KEYED FINGERS
20240377177 · 2024-11-14 ·

A measurement tool with keyed gauges or fingers that mitigates process reliability concerns. A holder or disc is used for a task or tasks associated with a given shop or process that utilizes gauges or fingers that are keyed and also color-coded, labeled, or otherwise differentiated such that only the proper gauges or fingers among similar gauges or fingers can actually be received in that holder or disc for that shop or process. Accordingly, if a user has the correct holder or disc for a shop or process, only the proper gauges or fingers can be used. For each shop or process, measurement process instructions or steps can also be provided for each task associated with a holder or disc and the associated keyed gauges or fingers by color-coding, labeling, or differentiation correspondence.
