PORTABLE TENNIS BALL TESTING DEVICE
A portable device for determining whether a tennis ball is compliant with a stated deformation standard compresses a tennis ball by application of a pre-determined pre-load followed by a pre-determined force. A scale is provided for measuring the deformation of the tennis ball after it is compressed. The device includes several plate members disposed in parallel and relatively movable a controllable amount by a shifting mechanism.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR 3D OPTICAL TRACKING OF MULTIPLE IN-FLIGHT GOLF BALLS
A system for visually tracking the trajectory of an in-flight golf ball through an x-y-z space above a driving range includes a plurality of cameras for respectively creating a video stream of the x-y-z space. Each video stream is presented on a dedicated camera focal plane with information on respective azimuth angles and elevation angles from the particular camera to the in-flight golf ball. A central computer is connected with the camera focal plane of each camera to identify a start point for the golf ball, to track its trajectory in the x-y-z space, and to filter out background clutter. A visual display is provided to show the in-flight golf ball from its start point to a target point in real time.
VIDEO ACOUSTICAL METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DETERMINING AN IMPACT POINT OF A THROWN BODY ON A LANDING AREA
A video acoustical method determines an impact point of a thrown body on a landing area, in particular for athletics throws disciplines, the body describing a trajectory in the air from a take-off area towards the landing area, the impact point being defined by the body hitting on the landing area. The method includes acquiring video exposures of the body impact on the landing area to a frame rate, each exposure showing one position of the body; calculating the body trajectory during at least the body impact on the landing area with the video exposures analysis; detecting an acoustical impact time due to the body hitting on the landing area; and determining the body impact point on the calculated trajectory with the detected acoustical impact time. A video acoustical system can determine an impact point of a thrown body on a landing area.
Ice skate blade measuring apparatus
A blade measuring apparatus (21) to measure the radius and bend of skate blades along the longitudinal plane of the skate blade runner features a one-piece frame (1), thermally non-conductive handles (5), and adjustable, replaceable, and interchangeable magnetic force application components (9, 10) and assemblies.
GOLF CLUB HEAD AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE
An iron-type golf club and a method of creating the iron-type golf club including the steps of forming a club head blank having an external sacrificial region with an ESR thickness, an ESR sole portion, an ESR face portion, and an ESR leading edge portion. A finished club head is formed having a finished club head weight of less than 310 grams by machining off an ESR removed mass from at least a portion of the external sacrificial region including at least a portion of the ESR sole portion, a portion of the ESR face portion, and a portion of the ESR leading edge portion.
Golf club head and method of manufacture
An iron-type golf club having selectively machined portions and attributes, including a machined sole portion and/or a machined leading edge portion. The machined portion(s) include continuous machining scallop lines having a scallop height and a step-over distance. The scallop height is 10-75% of a finished leading edge radius at a vertical midpoint demarcation plane, and the step-over distance is less than 150% of the finished leading edge radius at the vertical midpoint demarcation plane.
RACQUET CONFIGURED WITH INCREASED LATERAL FLEXIBILITY WITH RESPECT TO A LONGITUDINAL AXIS
A racquet including a frame including a head portion, a handle portion, and a throat portion. The head portion forms a hoop that defines a string bed plane. The head portion of the racquet being formed of a fiber composite material. When the racquet is tested under the racquet lateral bending test, the racquet has a lateral deflection of at least 6.5 mm when measured in a first direction that is parallel to the string bed plane and perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. When the racquet is tested under a racquet forward/rearward bending test, the racquet has a forward/rearward deflection with respect to the longitudinal axis of less than 7.3 mm when measured in a direction that is perpendicular to the string bed plane and perpendicular to the longitudinal axis.
Method, system, and non-transitory computer-readable recording medium for measuring physical quantities associated with a golf club
The present invention relates to a method, system, and non-transitory computer-readable recording medium for measuring physical quantities associated with a golf club. According to one aspect of the invention, there is provided a method for measuring physical quantities associated with a golf club, the method comprising the steps of: detecting a first marker and a second marker of different shapes in at least one image of a head of a golf club for which physical quantities are to be measured; and measuring the physical quantities associated with the golf club with reference to properties of a target area specified on the basis of the first marker and the second marker.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MEASUREMENT OF 3D ATTRIBUTES USING COMPUTER VISION
A system including a computing device and camera is disclosed; the system configured for measuring three-dimensional attributes and associated performance measurements of a mechanical device. Some embodiments comprise a camera configured to capture images of the mechanical device and a computing device in communication with the camera. In some embodiments, the computing device is configured to access a first set of pixels associated with a first plurality of fiducials to calibrate a spatial resolution of the camera. A second image from the camera can be converted into a second set of pixels associated with each of the plurality of fiducials, which are attached to the mechanical device. The computing device can be further configured to compare the first and second set of pixels to determine the location of the plurality of fiducials on the mechanical device.
Golf club head and method of manufacture
A customer directed golf club head manufacturing system including a self-service kiosk configured to transform a club head blank into a finished club head based upon input of a user. The self-service kiosk including a plurality of club head blanks, a kiosk control system, a user input system, and a machining system. The kiosk control system configured to prompt the user to select a plurality of predefined options that influence the configuration of the finished club head. The kiosk control system receives the user selected predefined options, identifies at least one user specific club head blank from the plurality of club head blanks that meets the requirements of the user selected predefined options, creates machining instructions, and transmits the machining instructions to the machining system to machine at least a portion of the user specific club head blank in accordance with the machining instructions to create the finished club head.
