Disclosed is an apparatus for heating smokable material to volatilize at least one component of the smokable material. The apparatus includes a heating zone for receiving an article, and a magnetic field generator for generating a varying magnetic field that penetrates the heating zone. The article includes smokable material and heating material that is heatable by penetration with a varying magnetic field to heat the smokable material. The magnetic field generator includes a magnetically permeable core and a coil. The core includes a magnetically permeable first portion and magnetically permeable first and second arms extending from the first portion. The coil is wound around the first portion of the core. The first and second arms of the core are on different sides of the heating zone.

Disclosed is an apparatus for heating smokable material to volatilize at least one component of the smokable material. There is provided an aerosol provision system comprising a power source; an aerosol generating component; and, control circuitry, wherein the control circuitry is arranged to control the power source and the aerosol generating component to provide a selection between at least: a predetermined aerosolization profile; and a variable aerosolization period, to be applied to aerosol generating material.

There is provided an aerosol provision system comprising a power source; an aerosol generating component; and, control circuitry, wherein the control circuitry is arranged to control the power source and the aerosol generating component to provide a selection between at least: a predetermined aerosolization profile; and a variable aerosolization period, to be applied to aerosol generating material.

An aerosol provision device for generating aerosol from an aerosol generating material is disclosed. The device comprises at least one heating element arranged so as to be adjacent aerosol generating material when the aerosol generating material is present in the aerosol provision device. The heating element has a surface arranged to increase in temperature when supplied with energy and the surface defines an area of no greater than 130 mm.sup.2 or 145 mm.sup.2. Also described is an aerosol provision system, and a method for generating aerosol.

An aerosol provision device for generating aerosol from an aerosol generating material is disclosed. An aerosol provision system is disclosed comprising an aerosol generating component for generating an aerosol from an aerosol generating material. The system further comprises a consumable comprising aerosol generating material, the consumable defining a surface at which at least part of the aerosol generating material is disposed the surface having a characteristic extent in a first direction and a characteristic extent in a second direction and a movement mechanism for providing relative movement between the aerosol generating component and the consumable. The movement mechanism is arranged to provide relative movement between the aerosol generating component and the consumable along an axis substantially parallel to the first direction and along an axis substantially parallel to the second direction.

An aerosol provision system is disclosed comprising an aerosol generating component for generating an aerosol from an aerosol generating material. The system further comprises a consumable comprising aerosol generating material, the consumable defining a surface at which at least part of the aerosol generating material is disposed the surface having a characteristic extent in a first direction and a characteristic extent in a second direction and a movement mechanism for providing relative movement between the aerosol generating component and the consumable. The movement mechanism is arranged to provide relative movement between the aerosol generating component and the consumable along an axis substantially parallel to the first direction and along an axis substantially parallel to the second direction.

Cartridges for vaporizer devices are provided. In one exemplary embodiment, the cartridge can include first and second storage chambers each configured to hold a respective fraction of a vaporizable material, a vaporization chamber that includes an elongate member that is in fluid communication with the first and second storage chambers and configured to receive the vaporizable material, a magnetic element disposed within a channel of the elongate member, and a conductive element that is configured to generate a first motive force to drive the magnetic element between first and second positions and further configured to substantially vaporize the vaporizable material within the elongate member. Vaporizer devices are also provided.

A vaporizer includes: a base having a first cavity, and, on a bottom wall of the base, two electrode holes in communication with the first cavity; a vaporization core having a first electrode wire and a second electrode wire and mounted in the first cavity; and a first magnetic electrode and a second magnetic electrode. The first magnetic electrode is assembled in a first electrode hole of the two electrode holes and in contact with the first electrode wire electrically connectable to the first electrode wire. The second magnetic electrode is assembled in a second electrode hole of the two electrode holes and in contact with the second electrode wire electrically connectable to the second electrode wire.
