TOBACCO TREATMENT
The invention provides a process for treating tobacco material comprising: securing tobacco starting material within a sealed reactor preventing the ingress or exit of any gas or liquid; heating the tobacco material to a temperature of from about 60° C. to about 200° C. for a period of from about 6 hours to about 120 hours; allowing the temperature of the tobacco material to cool down to about room temperature whilst secured within the sealed reactor; and removing treated tobacco material from the sealed reactor. It also provides tobacco material treated by the process, extracts from said tobacco material, and to products including the treated tobacco material or extracts.
Thermally Conductive Tobacco Composition, Method for Providing the Tobacco Composition, and Use
A heat-conducting tobacco composition comprising at least one sort of tobacco in at least one confectioning of the tobacco for smoking tobacco consumption. The heat-conducting tobacco composition is configured or designed as a tobacco article for at least one smoking article selected from the following group: dry tobacco article for cigarettes, cigarillos, cigars, semi-dry tobacco article for smoking tobacco pipes, moist tobacco article for water pipes; wherein the heat-conducting tobacco composition further comprises at least one metallic, in particular noble metallic component which performs a physical heat-conducting function during smoking, in particular when exposed to heat by ember/glow or by heating elements of the smoking article, and which is chemically inert at least in the temperature range required for smoking, and which is admixed to the tobacco and distributed in the tobacco composition in such a way that the heat distribution within the tobacco composition is homogenized during smoking.
Substrates for vaporizing and delivering an aerosol
Substrates for use with an aerosol delivery device to vaporize and deliver an aerosol to a user include a base material, an aerosol former and an aerosol agent. In a method for forming the substrates, a mixture of substrate materials is extruded and then spheronized to produce pellet substrates that are generally spherical, substantially spherical or rounded, or in the form of relatively short rods having rounded ends. In another method for forming the substrates, a base material is coated with a first coating and optionally the base material having the first coating thereon is subsequently coated with a second coating so as to produce pellet substrates having a relatively smooth, dry exterior surface. In this manner, the substrates are formable relative to one another and can be easily and readily loaded into and removed from the aerosol delivery device.
Process For Incorporating Additives Into Aerosol-Producing Substrates and Products Made Therefrom
A process is disclosed for incorporating additives into aerosol-producing substrates. During the process, an additive is incorporated into an infusing liquid. An aerosol-producing filler is submerged in the infusing liquid and the resulting mixture is subjected to reduced pressures that cause the infusing liquid to infuse into the material. The material is dried leaving behind the additive in a controlled amount and uniformly dispersed throughout the material. In one application, cannabidiol is incorporated into a tobacco filler or a hemp filler.
ORAL POUCHED PRODUCT WITH HIGH DENSITY LOAD
A composition enclosed in a pouch to form a pouched product configured for oral use is provided, the composition including a filler in an amount of at least 20% by weight, based on the total weight of the composition, and at least one active ingredient, at least one flavorant, or a combination thereof. The composition is loaded within the pouch at a density of about 0.45 g/cm.sup.3 or higher. Further provided are methods of preparing the pouched product.
Composite tobacco-containing materials
Tobacco products suitable for oral ingestion are provided. The tobacco products include a tobacco composition and at least one edible film. The edible film can include one or more of (i) a fruit or vegetable puree and (ii) a denatured protein. A multi-layer tobacco product is provided that includes a tobacco composition in the form of a compressed sheet layer and at least one edible film adjacent to the tobacco composition layer, wherein the edible film includes a puree of at least one fruit, vegetable, or a combination thereof. A process for preparing a tobacco product is also provided, such as a process that includes receiving a tobacco composition and an edible film; applying the edible film to the tobacco composition; and compressing the edible film and tobacco composition together to form a multi-layer tobacco product.

HOLLOW AEROSOL-GENERATING ARTICLE WITH TUBULAR SUBSTRATE LAYERS
An aerosol-generating article is provided, including: a first tubular aerosol-forming substrate layer defining a cylindrical hollow central core; and a second tubular aerosol-forming substrate layer arranged around the first tubular aerosol-forming substrate layer, the first tubular aerosol-forming substrate layer being a gel layer. A method of manufacturing an aerosol-generating article, a method of generating an aerosol, and an aerosol-generating system are also provided.
System comprising a machine for preparing a smokable product from a portion capsule
A machine for preparing a smokeable product, the machine comprising a housing, a capsule receiving compartment within the housing, the capsule receiving compartment configured to receive a capsule used to prepare the smokeable product, a rolling medium holder movably coupled to the housing, the rolling medium holder configured to receive at least one rolling medium and move between an open position for receiving the rolling medium, and a closed position for forming the smokeable product, and a tamper coupled to the housing and configured to puncture the capsule to permit and facilitate movement of smokeable material from the capsule into a rolling medium.
INTERVERTEBRAL IMPLANT
An adjustable spinal fusion intervertebral implant is provided that can comprise upper and lower body portions that can each have proximal and distal wedge surf aces disposed at proximal and distal ends thereof. An actuator shaft disposed intermediate the upper and lower body portions can be actuated to cause proximal and distal protrusions to converge towards each other and contact the respective ones of the proximal and distal wedge surfaces. Such contact can thereby transfer the longitudinal movement of the proximal and distal protrusions against the proximal and distal wedge surfaces to cause the separation of the upper and lower body portions, thereby expanding the intervertebral implant. The upper and lower body portions can have side portions that help facilitate linear translational movement of the upper body portion relative to the lower body portion.
