HIGH FREQUENCY DATA TRANSCEIVER AND SURGE PROTECTION RETROFIT FOR A SMART METER
A high frequency data recorder (“HFDR”) can include a first set of contacts, on a first side of the HFDR, that are pluggable into a first meter receptacle of a meter box, wherein the first meter receptacle provides a connection to a power supply and a connection to a load. The HFDR also includes a second set of contacts, on a second side of the HFDR, that form a second meter receptacle. The second meter receptacle provides another connection to the power supply and another connection to the load. The HFDR can further include a processor that accesses a non-transitory machine readable memory that stores instruction that when executed cause the processor to passively measures current downstream from the meter box. The HFDR still further includes a wireless transceiver that wirelessly transmits data characterizing the measured current.
Utility meter register optical reading device
A meter reading system comprises a sensor unit (2) containing a first camera (10) and at least a second camera (10′), the first camera focussed on a first area of a meter display (32) and the said second camera focussed on a second area of the meter display (32), the cameras arranged so that the area consisting of said first and second areas can be captured.
Nameplate carrier and antenna holder
Disclosed herein is a combination faceplate antenna holder for an electric utility meter.
Enhanced meter management solution
A method includes receiving, from a first head end system (HES), a first raw file including a first set of events in a first HES specific format, and modifying the first set of events in the first raw file by a first HES adapter to create a first unified formatted file. The first unified formatted file is in a unified format, and the first HES adapter is connected to the first HES. The method further include transforming, by a core HES adapter, the first unified formatted file to a first data management formatted file according to a data management format, and consuming the first data management formatted file.
Method and system for detecting anomalies in energy consumption
A method of detecting conditions indicative of energy meter tampering, meter faults or energy loss (e.g. due to energy theft) is disclosed. The method includes receiving energy consumption data from an energy meter indicating consumption of energy at a location served by the energy meter. Event data is also received from the meter comprising one or more events generated by the energy meter. The consumption data is analysed to detect a predetermined consumption condition. The event data is analysed to detect a predetermined event or event pattern in the event data. An alert condition is generated in response to detecting both the consumption condition and the event or event pattern.
Device for determining the movement of a rotary element, particularly for readings of water and/or gas meters
A rotary element is equipped with a pattern representing a reflected binary code on at least three bits. A detection circuit is configured to sense the pattern and deliver an incident signal encoded in reflected binary code on at least three bits. The incident signal is converted by a transcoding circuit into an intermediate signal encoded in reflected binary code on two bits. A decoding stage decodes the intermediate signal and outputs at least one clock signal representing the amount of rotation of the rotary element and a direction signal representing the direction of rotation. A processing circuit determines the movement of the rotary element, and has at least one general purpose timer designed to receive the at least one clock signal and direction signal.
System and Method for Identifying the Effect of Changes in a Utility Monitoring System
A computer-implemented system for determining the effect of a change is a utility system based on streamed meter data is described. The system includes a metering analytics system configured to receive a stream of meter data received from sensors in or in proximity with utility meters in a utility monitoring system, the meter data being generated by the sensors and a central event management system for identifying an effect of modification to the utility monitoring system in the streamed meter data based on a plurality of sequential meter reads in the streamed meter data. The central event management system is configured to receive a change notification including change time, identify a meter associated with the change notification, monitor read messages in the streamed meter data to identify a first read message for a watched meter received following the change time, and determine a change effect for the meter based on at least a second read message in the streamed meter data.
System and Method for Validating Streaming Sensor Data in a Utility Monitoring System
A computer-implemented system for validating meter data in a utility monitoring system based on streamed sensor data is described. The system includes a metering analytics system configured to receive a stream of meter data received from sensors in or in proximity with utility meters, the meter sensor data being generated by the sensors and a central event management system for validating meter sensor data in the streamed sensor data based on a plurality of sequential sensor reads in the streamed sensor data. The central event management system is configured to receive an invalidation event definition defining a sensor value usage invalidation threshold, apply the invalidation event definition to read messages received through the streamed sensor data, monitor read messages in the streamed sensor data to identify a first read message for a watched meter, and identify an invalid meter satisfying the invalidation event definition based upon receipt of at least a second read message for the violating meter indicating that the meter sensor data is outside of a defined range for the sensor value usage invalidation threshold range.
Method for locating water resources
A method of locating a water resource includes taking a first electronic device within a predetermined radius of a water resource; and associating owner contact information and coordinate location data of the water resource to the water resource. An online database stores the coordinate location data of the water resource, the owner of the water resource, and the owner contact information received from the first electronic device. A second electronic device displays on an electronic map the coordinate location data of the water resource within an area of the electronic map. The user of the second electronic device is informed, after selection of the water resource, the name of the owner of the water resource, the owner contact information of the water resource, and the coordinate location data of the water resource.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR OBTAINING INFORMATION FROM ANALOG INSTRUMENTS USING A DIGITAL RETROFIT
A digital retrofit device comprises a camera, a processor coupled to the camera and configured with computer-executable instructions that cause the processor to activate the camera to capture an image and process the image so as to identify measurement data being displayed on an analog measurement instrument which is within the image captured by the camera, wherein the processing includes: identifying a type of the analog measurement instrument, identifying features of the analog measurement instrument, extract the measurement data displayed on the analog instrument based on the identified type and features of the analog instrument measurement, convert the extracted data into converted digital information, and obtain supplemental information from a database related to the analog instrument.
