Acoustic drum shell including inserts
10546565 · 2020-01-28 ·

A metal shell and metal inserts of an acoustic drum. In some examples, an acoustic drum having a metal shell can include one or more metal inserts configured to control the tone of the drum. In some configurations, the one or more inserts can form a portion of a bearing edge at one or more openings of the shell. Moreover, in some examples the inserts can be fitted to be in contact with the shell. The shape and configuration of the metal inserts can therefore control and refine the tone of the drum, allowing, for example, a drum with a metal shell to have a tone resembling that of a wooden drum with the sensitivity and power of a metal drum.

Vehicle display apparatus

A vehicle display apparatus includes an image display panel, a backlight, and a translucent plate. The image display panel displays an image in a display area. The backlight emits a light in a direction from a back surface of the image display panel toward the display area. The translucent plate has a plate shape and is disposed between the image display panel and the backlight. The translucent plate transmits the light emitted from the backlight. The translucent plate has a three-dimensional indicator configured to be visually recognized through the image display panel, and a periphery portion of the translucent plate is disposed out of the display area.

Hybrid snare drum stick
10482854 · 2019-11-19 · ·

An improved drum stick for use with all types of musical percussion instruments is disclosed. Hybridized wood materials are used for two sections or portions of the drum stick. The body or middle section of the drum stick is fabricated from a woven carbon fiber tube which is connected to a tip section or portion of the drum stick and its oppositely disposed butt section or portion of the drum stick, both of which are fabricated from a laminate wood composite material, known as hornwood. The combination of the woven carbon fiber tube with the tip section and its oppositely disposed butt section fabricated from hornwood results in a drum stick that has a precise pitch and weight while producing a very fast rebound off of the drum head.

Laminated plyboard for musical instrument, method for manufacturing the same, and musical instrument

A laminated plyboard for a musical instrument which reduces a loss of vibration energy due to internal friction while securing high rigidity with inexpensive cost. A laminated plyboard 20 comprises a first layer portion S1 including layers 24 and 25, a second layer portion S2 including layers 26 and 27, and an impregnated layer 21 impregnated with phenol and sandwiched between the first layer portion S1 and the second layer portion S2. A rigidity coefficient of the impregnated layer 21 is higher than rigidity coefficients of the layers 24 to 27 that configure the first layer portion S1 and the second layer portion S2.

Multimedia display apparatus and method of use thereof
10418005 · 2019-09-17 ·

The present disclosure relates, in one embodiment to a multimedia display apparatus. The multimedia display apparatus may comprise a housing which may be connected to a chassis. The chassis may be configured to attach to the underside of a music drum via a biasing element, thereby positioning the housing so as to project a multimedia image onto the head of the music drum. A multimedia projector may be disposed inside the housing and configured to project a multimedia image through the open bottom or transparent surface of the music drum and displayed on the top surface of the white or translucent drumhead.

Color changing hose
10330226 · 2019-06-25 ·

A hose having an observed color, the hose includes a tubular wall having an interior, an exterior and a thickness. The observed hose color changes between a first hose color in a first state and a second hose color in a second state. Differences between the first state and second state may be the result of different expansions of the hose, different pressure pressures within the hose, differences in amount of fluid within the hose and different tensions states for the hose. Observed color changes between the first state and second state may be a color change, a color shade change, alternating rings of at least two different colors or shades of color along the length of the hose, a color pattern change or even the generation of indicia on the hose.

IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING THE SAME AND RECORDING MEDIUM
20190156488 · 2019-05-23 ·

An apparatus captures an image of a measuring instrument that is captured by an imaging apparatus, sets an area in the image as an edge detection processing target in response to a user operation, and executes edge detection processing on the set area in the image. Further, the image processing apparatus sets a value for correcting a position of a detected edge portion. The image processing apparatus corrects the position of the detected edge portion based on the set value and calculates a value indicated by a pointer of the measuring instrument according to the corrected position of the edge portion.

IC TAG UNIT FOR INSTRUMENT, IC TAG SYSTEM FOR INSTRUMENT, INSTRUMENT PROVIDED WITH IC TAG UNIT, AND METHOD FOR CALIBRATING INSTRUMENT PROVIDED WITH IC TAG UNIT
20190145802 · 2019-05-16 ·

To provide an IC tag unit, for an instrument, that can be retrofitted to an analog instrument, that does not impair the calibration state of the instrument, and that can read the value indicated by an indicator and take out the value to outside in a contactless manner.

The IC tag unit includes a scale increment reading module 20 which reads operation of an indicator 55. An IC tag 11 performs wireless communication with a wireless reader 70 via an antenna 13 and includes a power module which extracts and supplies drive power for the IC tag by electromagnetic wave of the wireless communication. A sheet which holds the IC tag and an attachment layer which attaches the sheet to the transparent cover plate are provided. The IC tag is provided on the sheet at a position where the IC tag is not overlapped, in a viewing direction, with any of scale increments 56a and an indicating portion of the indicator at a time of mounting the IC tag to a transparent cover plate 53. The scale increment reading module includes a sensor 21 which is opposed to the indicator on the sheet and which reads the position of the indicator on the basis of relative movement thereof.

Indicating device with rear projection structure

A dial plate being nonopaque is in a disc shape. A slit member has slits each extending through the slit member in a thickness direction. A light source is located on an opposite side of the slit member from the dial plate. The light source is configured to emit light through the slits of the slit member toward the dial plate to project images on the dial plate.
