WEARABLE AIRFOIL
A wearable airfoil garment for reducing the cyclist aerodynamic drag. A garment material is elastically tethered between two or more anchor locations on the garment. The anchor locations are positioned and arranged to form transient, self-adaptive, body-conforming airfoil surfaces on the garment. The self-adjustment of the airfoil surfaces preserves the cyclist's comfort as well as the aerodynamic efficiency. The airfoil surfaces change in a body-conforming manner in response to the movements of a person wearing the garment. The aerodynamic performance of the garment is adjustable to the preference of the wearer. Garment airfoils constructed with seams suitably placed to trigger transition of boundary layers.
ATHLETIC GARMENT WITH A POCKET FOR A CHAMOIS
The description provides a pair of cycling leggings or shorts comprising a pocket for a removable chamois. Said pocket for chamois has a narrow opening on the front end and a wide opening on the back end, so that a removable chamois can be slipped in and removed as needed.
SPORTS TROUSER
A sports trouser is provided, comprising: a trouser portion having a waistband portion (11) from which a bifurcated leg portion (12) depends; and a halter portion (13) extending from the waistband portion to loop, when worn, around the back of the neck of the wearer, thereby to apply an upward force to the waistband portion, wherein the halter portion is anchored to the waistband portion so as to apply force at at least two positions arranged on either side of the body sagittal plane each being rearward of the body coronal plane, the halter portion being anchored so as to extend to the neck crossing the body coronal plane beneath the arms of the wearer. The trouser may thereby be more convenient to don and doff, and may thereby be more comfortable to wear.
PERFECTED SELF-MODELLING PADDING, GARMENT OR SUPPORT COMPRISING SAID SELF-MODELLING PADDING, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
A self-modelling padding for garments or supports which has an elastomeric matrix having a cross-linked, three-dimensional open cell structure, and a self-modelling paste embedded in the elastomeric matrix is provided. The elastomeric matrix is configured to have a shape memory. The self-modelling paste has a plastic behavior.
GARMENT FOR CYCLISTS
A garment for cyclists is disclosed that is particularly suitable for being able to be worn with any trousers so as not to restrict the person wishing to go by bicycle to wearing trousers with built-in protection, offering good protection of the genital, perineal and ischial zones of both the professional and amateur and occasional cyclists in a comfortable, discreet and also very practical manner.
The garment comprises an elasticised or elastic edge (2) provided for adhering to the body of the user so as to ensure that the entire structure of the garment does not move during pedaling, a pair of strips (3) made of woven material or elastics or of another fabric or suitable material designed to rest against the buttocks of the cyclist and engaged at one end with the edge (2) in the rear part, a front portion (4) connected to the strips (3) at one end and at the other to the edge (2) in the front part and set up to be positioned on the genital zone of the user with a series of zones with different types of processing designed to offer breathability, containment and support. The garment comprises a protective pad (5) shaped and located between the front part (4) and the pair of strips (3) and with padding having different thicknesses wherein the thickness is greater towards the centre of the padded portion placed at the support of the buttocks on the saddle so as to support better and with greater comfort the perineal and ischial zones of the user. In particular, the protective pad of very reduced dimensions protects the perineal zone and the ischial bones of the user.
Motorcycling apparel
Motorcycling apparel, particularly motorcycling jerseys and pants, and methods of manufacture thereof are provided. In the motorcycling pant of the invention, a compressive inner layer is integrally affixed to a protective outer layer. In embodiments, the motorcycling pant includes a zipper for securing the outer layer snugly around a leg of the wearer. The integrally affixed compressive layer and zipper mechanism permit a wearer to put on additional protective gear, e.g. knee braces, over the motorcycling pant with less time and effort than previous motorcycling pants require.
