Magnetic field sensor integrated circuit with an integrated coil
A magnetic field sensor includes a lead frame, a semiconductor die having a first surface in which a magnetic field sensing element is disposed and a second surface attached to the lead frame, and a non-conductive mold material enclosing the die and at least a portion of the lead frame. The sensor may include a ferromagnetic mold material secured to a portion of the non-conductive mold material. Features include a multi-sloped taper to an inner surface of a non-contiguous central region of the ferromagnetic mold material, a separately formed element disposed in the non-contiguous central region, one or more slots in the lead frame, a molded ferromagnetic suppression device spaced from the non-conductive mold material and enclosing a portion of a lead, a passive device spaced from the non-conductive mold material and coupled to a plurality of leads, and a ferromagnetic bead coupled to a lead. Also described is a coil secured to the non-conductive mold material and a lead having at least two separated portions with a passive component coupled across the two portions.
Sensor system comprising offaxis insensitive multipole magnet
A sensor system comprises a magnetic field generator and a sensor device arranged at a distance from said magnetic field generator and adapted for measuring or determining at least one magnetic field component and/or at least one magnetic field gradient component. The magnetic field generator comprises a multi-pole magnet having a number N of pole pairs that are axially magnetized to generate an N-pole magnetic field that is substantially rotationally symmetric around an axis. The magnet comprises a plurality of grooves and/or elongate protrusions that are arranged in a rotationally symmetric pattern around the axis to provide a substantially constant magnetic field gradient in a central region around said axis.
SYSTEM WITH MAGNETIC FIELD SHIELD STRUCTURE
A system includes an encoder magnet, a magnetic field sensor, and a shield structure. The encoder magnet is configured to rotate about an axis of rotation and is configured to produce a measurement magnetic field. The magnetic field sensor is axially displaced away from the encoder magnet and is configured to detect the measurement magnetic field. The shield structure at least partially surrounds both of the encoder magnet and the magnetic field sensor for shielding against stray magnetic fields. The shield structure attaches to a secondary structure. The shield structure and the encoder magnet may be coupled via the secondary structure so that they are commonly rotational. Alternatively, the sensor package and the shield structure are coupled via the secondary structure so that they are nonrotational relative to the encoder magnet.
POSITION SENSING METHOD
A system, comprising a target, a first receiving coil array, and a second receiving coil array. The target includes: (i) a first array of conductive features that are arranged in a line or arc and separated from one another by voids, and (ii) a second array of conductive features that are arranged in a line or arc and separated from one another by voids, the conductive features in the first array being staggered with respect to the conductive features in the second array.; The first receiving coil array is configured to sense a first magnetic field that is associated with the first array of conductive features. The second receiving coil array is configured to sense a second magnetic field that is associated with the second array of conductive features.

An encoder device including a position detection unit for detecting position information of a moving part; a magnet having a plurality of polarities along a moving direction of the moving part; and an electric signal generation unit for generating an electric signal, based on a magnetic characteristic of a magnetosensitive part, the electric signal generation unit having the magnetosensitive part whose magnetic characteristic is changed by a change in magnetic field associated with relative movement to the magnet, wherein the magnetosensitive part is disposed so that the magnetosensitive part is spaced apart from a side surface of the magnet in a direction orthogonal to the moving direction and a length direction of the magnetosensitive part is orthogonal to tangential directions of at least some of magnetic field lines of the magnet.

A displacement detection device includes a magnet which is displaced in a displacement direction Ds, is rod-shaped and has a form in which a longitudinal direction and the displacement direction Ds form a predetermined angle , and a sensor IC which detects a magnetic flux density of a magnetic field formed by the magnet in an x direction and a z direction orthogonal to the displacement direction Ds and outputs a signal proportional to the magnetic field detected.
Feedback system for pitch-adjustable blades of aircraft bladed rotor
Systems and methods for providing pitch position feedback for pitch-adjustable blades of an aircraft bladed rotor are disclosed. In one embodiment, the systems include a sensor comprising a magnet having a magnetic field, a pole piece coupled to a first pole of the magnet and directing the magnetic field toward the feature and a coil mounted in the magnetic field. The coil generates a sensor signal indicative of a variation in the magnetic field caused by movement of the feature in the magnetic field. The sensor also includes a magnetic shield mounted in the magnetic field. The magnetic shield defines a magnetic return path for some magnetic flux of the magnetic field exiting the pole piece toward an opposite second pole of the magnet.
MAGNETIC POSITION SENSORS, SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Magnetic position sensors, systems and methods are disclosed. In an embodiment, a position sensing system includes a magnetic field source; and a sensor module spaced apart from the magnetic field source, at least one of the magnetic field source or the sensor module configured to move relative to the other along a path, the sensor module configured to determine a position of the magnetic field source relative to the sensor module from a nonlinear function of a ratio of a first component of a magnetic field of the magnetic field source to a second component of the magnetic field of the magnetic field source.

A rotational manipulation detector includes: a magnetic material in the shape of a ring and including, disposed alternately in the circumferential direction of the magnetic material, first magnetic portions each having a first cross-sectional area in the circumferential direction and second magnetic portions each having, in the circumferential direction, a second cross-sectional area different from the first cross-sectional area; a first magnet disposed opposite to the magnetic material; and a first Hall element and a second Hall element which are disposed opposite to the magnetic material and detect a change in a magnetic field which occurs when the magnetic material is rotated. The first magnet, the first Hall element, and the second Hall element are disposed side by side along the circumferential direction of the magnetic material.
ROTATION ANGLE DETECTION DEVICE
A rotation angle detection device for detecting a rotation angle of a rotating body includes a magnet disposed to rotate together with the rotating body, a magnetic portion provided in a ring shape radially outward of the magnet, a plurality of gaps being formed in the magnetic portion at a plurality of locations along a circumferential direction, and a magnetic detection unit arranged in a particular gap of the plurality of gaps. The magnetic detection unit is located at a detection position, a width of the particular gap in the tangential direction at the detection position is defined as a detection position gap width, a width of the particular gap in the tangential direction at a position radially outward of the detection position is defined as a tangential width, and the tangential width is narrower than the detection position gap width.
