Pilot-configurable information on a display unit
A small thin display unit that can be installed in the flight deck for displaying only flight crew-selected tactical information needed for the task at hand. The flight crew can select the tactical information to be displayed by means of any conventional user interface. Whenever the flight crew selects tactical information for display, the user interface sends a corresponding request for tactical information to a computer system. The computer system processes the request, including periodically retrieving measured current values or computing current values for the requested tactical parameters and returning those current tactical parameter values to the display unit for display.
Aircraft throttle quadrant assembly with integrated visual indicator feature
A throttle quadrant system for an aircraft includes: a first throttle handle to control a first engine of the aircraft, the first throttle handle having a first activatable visual indicator integrated therein; a second throttle handle to control a second engine of the aircraft, the second throttle handle comprising a second activatable visual indicator integrated therein; and at least one controller to control activation and operation of the first activatable visual indicator and the second activatable visual indicator. The at least one controller responds to first engine data related to operating status of the first engine to selectively activate the first activatable visual indicator. The at least one controller also responds to second engine data related to operating status of the second engine to selectively activate the second activatable visual indicator.

UTILIZING DETERMINED STATUS IN DISPLAYING GRAPHIC OVERLAYS FOR NOTAMS
One example provides a computing device comprising a display device, a logic subsystem, and a memory subsystem. The memory subsystem comprises instructions that are executable by the logic subsystem to display a graphical airspace representing an airspace on the display device, and obtain one or more notice to air missions (NOTAMs) related to the airspace. The instructions are further executable to, for each NOTAM of the one or more NOTAMs, display a graphic overlay on the graphical airspace. The graphic overlay has an appearance based at least upon a determined status of the NOTAM.
Integrated ice protection with prognostics and health management
Provided are embodiments for method and system for performing an integrated ice protection with prognostics and health management using fiber optic sensors. Embodiments can include reading a signal from each sensor of an array of sensors installed on a surface of a structure or equipment, wherein each sensor is a fiber optic sensor, and generating a map based on reading the signal from each sensor, wherein the map monitors a condition of the surface detected by each sensor. Embodiments can also include determining at least one of an abnormal condition or a failure based at least in part on reading the signal from each sensor; and performing at least one of adjusting power control for the structure or equipment or communicating the abnormal condition or failure of the structure or equipment.
