A lined and padded trouser assembly for cushioning a groin of a wearer includes a pair of pants having a pair of shorts positioned therein and engaged thereto. A waistband of the shorts is substantially aligned with a waistband of the pants. A pad is engaged to and positioned between the pants and the shorts so that the pad is positioned over a groin of a user upon donning the pants. The pad cushions the groin from a vertical pressure applied thereto. The shorts protect skin from chafing and absorb perspiration to prevent skin irritation.

In an embodiment, an athletic garment is provided including a front panel and a rear panel, a waistband portion disposed at an upper portion of the garment, a first opening for receiving a torso of a user, a second opening for receiving a first leg of a user and a third opening for receiving a second leg of a user; and a crotch panel disposed between the front and rear panel, extending from the second opening to the third opening. The crotch panel comprises a tri-layered substrate to conceal and prevent visible staining of a fluid received therein. The tri-layered substrate may include a first layer of a first material, a second layer of a second material, and a third layer of a third material.

The manufacturing method has the steps of: 1. making separate paddings using spongy materials; 2. choosing several paddings being made; adhering the several paddings with fabric pieces by heat press using a heat press mold and heat press formation devices, thereby forming the protective pad for sportswear. Specifically, the heat press mold contains cavities for accommodating the paddings; before heat press, laying a first fabric piece on the heat press mold, and then placing the paddings into the cavities; and after that laying a second fabric piece over the paddings; applying glues between the first fabric piece, the second fabric piece and the paddings; finally, adhering the first fabric piece, the second fabric piece and the paddings by heat press using the heat press formation devices.
