An in-line flowmeter for large diameter pipes includes an outer pipe with a diameter equal to that of the pipe to which it is coupled and an inner measuring tube carrying a portion of the flow, the flow through the measuring tube being sensed by a flowmeter associated with the measuring tube and with the total combined flow rate out of the in-line flowmeter calculated from the sensed flow through the measuring tube.

DEVICE FOR MONITORING AN INFUSION SET

A device provided for monitoring the delivery of fluids through a drip chamber. The device includes an electromagnetic radiation (EMR) source and an EMR detector. A device body is employed to position the source and detector about the drip chamber so that the source and detector define an optical path across the drip chamber. A processor device is employed to detect fluid drops from differences between detector signal values separated by a lag time. The device connects to a monitor which may continuously monitor the detected drips.

A manifold includes a housing defining first and second inlets and outlets. With the housing, a valve retainer defines a first chamber in fluid communication with the first and second inlets. The valve retainer may engage a first valve assembly having a first actuator attached to a first valve member for regulating flow from the first outlet, and a second valve assembly having a second actuator attached to a second valve member for regulating flow from the second outlet port. A sensor assembly is configured to detect first and second operations of the first and second valve assemblies. A controller directs independent operations of the first and second actuators based on first and second flow rates derived from the first and second operations. The first and second valve members may be positioned within portions of respective first and second valve bodies in open fluid communication with the first chamber.
