An onboard system that reduces a mental pressure on a driver includes a remaining amount detector that detects a remaining amount of a power source remaining in a vehicle, a lighting detector that detects that a low power source indicator provided in the vehicle lights up, a lighting remaining amount storage unit that stores, as a lighting remaining amount, the remaining power source amount detected by the remaining amount detector at a timing at which the lighting detector detects the lighting of the low power source indicator, a notification remaining amount detector that detects a remaining power source amount larger by a predetermined amount than the lighting remaining amount stored in the lighting remaining amount storage unit, and a notifier that notifies information for promoting supply of the power source after the remaining power source amount larger than the lighting remaining amount by the predetermined amount is detected before the lighting remaining amount is detected.
Remote server
There is provided a remote server that receives a machine type, an operating day, a position, a load factor, an engine rotational speed, a traveling speed, and a fuel consumption amount. The remote server identifies a working position based on the position, selects past operating days of an operation status corresponding to a current load factor of the same machine at the same working position, identifies a minimum fuel consumption amount out of fuel consumption amounts corresponding to the selected past operating days, and compares a current fuel consumption amount with the past minimum fuel consumption amount. If the current fuel consumption amount is larger than the past minimum fuel consumption amount, the remote server transmits an engine rotational speed and a traveling speed during a working period of the minimum fuel consumption amount, to a predetermined communication terminal corresponding to information for machine identification.
PREDICTIVE DIAGNOSTICS SYSTEMS AND METHODS USING VACUUM PRESSURE CONTROL VALVES
Calibration of a valve in a vacuum system and providing a diagnostic indication in the vacuum system using the calibration includes measuring conductance of the valve as a function of angular valve position and generating a conductance calibration map or function for use during operation of the valve. An actual angular valve position is set based on the received set point angular valve position and a difference between the measured valve conductance and a predefined metric of conductance versus angular valve position. An actual system conductance and a difference between the actual system conductance and a reference system conductance for the system are determined. The diagnostic indication of a fault in the system is generated based on the actual angular valve position of the valve and the difference between the actual system conductance and the reference system conductance for the system.
Fuel management
The invention relates to a fuel management system for a vehicle. The fuel management system includes a fill-up sensor located at an inlet of a fuel tank of the vehicle, for determining the volume of fuel flowing into the fuel tank, a fuel supply sensor located in a fuel line between the fuel tank and an engine of the vehicle, for determining the volume of fuel flowing to the engine of the vehicle and a return line sensor located in the fuel return line of the vehicle, for determining the volume of fuel returning to the fuel tank. The system further includes a controller in communication with the fill-up sensor, fuel supply sensor and return line sensor, for collecting data from the sensors, calculating whether there is a fuel deviation between the amount of fuel entering the fuel tank and consumed by the vehicle, and generating fuel deviation events.
Vehicle navigation system for estimating energy consumption of route links
A vehicle navigation system having a database configured to store map data. The database includes links corresponding to road segments and attributes associated with the links. The map data includes at least some links associated with a curvature attribute. A mean absolute curvature is stored for the curvature attribute for corresponding links. The mean absolute curvature may be determined from a normalized sum or integral of absolute curvature values along the road segment corresponding to the link. The system includes a processing unit configured to estimate an energy consumption of the vehicle for a link using the curvature attribute retrieved from the database for the link.
Real time additive processing system for crude oil, fuels, or refined products and method
A real time additive processing system for crude oil or refined fuel products is coupled to a fuel transport line that transfers fuel from one storage tank to another storage tank. The fuel additive processing system includes a fuel additive storage tank coupled to a liquid conduit having a liquid pump with a speed/stroke controller that regulates the liquid pump. The liquid conduit is coupled to the fuel transport line at a fuel additive injection nozzle. The fuel additive processing system also includes a flow rate transmitter and a chemical or physical property analyzer coupled to the fuel transport line downstream of the additive injection nozzle. The flow rate transmitter transmits the flow rate of the fuel passing through the fuel transport line. The fuel additive processing system includes a flow controller that communicates with the liquid pump speed/stroke controller, flow rate transmitter and chemical or physical property analyzer.
DISPLAY APPARATUS FOR WORK MACHINE
A work machine evaluates the fuel consumption for the whole engine running period including the time of operation and the time of non-operation of a work implement and informs an operator of the evaluation in real time to prompt fuel-consumption-savings. The work machine has an engine, a hydraulic pump driven by the engine, an actuator driven by a hydraulic fluid delivered by the hydraulic pump, and an operation device that operates the actuator. A display apparatus for the work machine includes a fuel consumption index calculating section that calculates a first fuel consumption index by dividing the operation time of the operation device by the fuel consumption amount of the engine or dividing the fuel consumption amount of the engine by the operation time of the operation device. The first fuel consumption index calculated by the fuel consumption index calculating section is displayed on a display section in real time.
