Calibrating an Electromechanical Fill-Level Measuring Device
An electromechanical fill-level measuring device comprising at least one displacement element, which is connected by means of a measurement wire windably at least with a measurement drum, at least one measuring shaft, with which the measurement drum is mechanically fixedly connected, wherein the shaft is held rotatably in at least one rotary bearing, at least one weight measuring system, which ascertains the effective weight of the displacement element and the measurement wire, and at least one servomotor, which is coupled with the measuring shaft and which rotates the measuring shaft corresponding to an ascertained weight measurement, so that an ascertaining of the relative movement of the measurement drum produced by a change of the liquid level to be measured is provided. The invention provides that a calibration mode of the weight measuring system of the electromechanical fill-level measuring device is provided, in which freely hanging displacement elements with defined mass are provided for ascertaining their weights on the measurement wire, after each change of the freely hanging displacement elements with defined mass a predefined rotational movement of the measurement drum is provided, and their ascertained weights are provided as a calibration values for the weight measuring system.
Functional Diagnosis of an Electromechanical Fill State Measuring Device
A method for the functional diagnosis of an electromechanical fill state measuring device in which a displacement element on a measuring wire is lowered into a filling material in a container such that in an equilibrium state, the weight of the displacement element minus a displacement element buoyancy, which depends upon at least one equilibrium volume, is determined to be equal to a resulting weight of the displacement element. The resulting weight is specified, and the specified resulting weight is kept constant by correspondingly changing the length of the measuring wire in the equilibrium state. The fill state of the filling material is ascertained using the length of the lowered measuring wire. In order to diagnose a function, the specified value of the equilibrium volume of the displacement element is changed, and the resulting change in the length of the measuring wire is ascertained on the basis of the constant equilibrium state of the resulting weight.
IMMERSION PROBES AND RELATED METHODS
Immersion probes and related methods are generally described. In some embodiments, the probe comprises a shaft with a spiral strake disposed along at least a portion of the length of the shaft and/or a porous shroud extending from a distal portion of the shaft.
Septic tank failure possibility detection and alert system and method
A septic system level detection system includes a means to detect a fluid level within a septic system that indicates a failure or possible impending failure of a septic system and means to communicate an alert of this indication via electronic messaging media. A digitized record of information related to the identified septic system is stored in a database. Upon receipt of a septic system failure alert, at least a portion of the digitized record of information is transmitted via an electronic communications system network, i.e., a network comprising a telephony network and/or the Internet, to a predesignated address of the network.
FLUID MONITORING SYSTEM AND SUPPORT ARRANGEMENT THEREOF
A support arrangement for a fluid monitoring system is provided, configured for being secured within a vertical shaft and for facilitating positioning of a fluid monitor suspended therefrom. The support arrangement includes an attachment arrangement to be secured to a vertical access shaft of an open channel fluid transport system, a cross rail assembly including a cross rail and being configured to be mounted to the attachment arrangement for being supported thereby, and a lifting assembly mounted on the cross rail and configured for suspension therefrom of the fluid monitor along a vertically-extending suspension axis. The cross rail is configured to be rotatable about a vertical axis when at least partially received within the attachment arrangement. The lifting assembly is configured to be selectively secured to one of a plurality of lateral positions along the length of the cross rail.
Method for sampling groundwater
The disclosure provides a method for sampling groundwater. The method includes extracting groundwater from a monitoring well in a first flow rate; monitoring groundwater level in real-time, and calculating a decrease of the groundwater level during the extracting in the first flow rate based on the real-time monitored groundwater level; when the decrease of the groundwater level is equal to a first value, extracting groundwater from the monitoring well in a second flow rate, the second flow rate being smaller than the first flow rate; and when the groundwater level is in an equilibration state, extracting groundwater from the monitoring well and using the extracted groundwater at this time as a representative groundwater.
Testing system
A testing system for testing a workpiece for a characteristic by irradiating microwaves to the workpiece and also irradiating a laser beam at an irradiation position of the microwaves, receiving microwaves reflected at the irradiation position where the workpiece has a reflectivity increased by carriers generated through photoexcitation, and measuring a lifetime of the carriers. The testing system includes a chuck table that holds the workpiece, a microwave irradiation unit that irradiates the microwaves to the workpiece held on the chuck table, a microwave reception unit that receives microwaves reflected by the workpiece, and a laser beam irradiation unit that irradiates the laser beam onto the irradiation position to which the microwaves have been irradiated.
Apparatus and method for liquid level measurement and content purity measurement in a sounding tube
A level sensing apparatus (110) for attachment to a sounding tube to measure levels of content in a tank. The level sensing apparatus includes a housing (16) for enclosing components of the level sensing apparatus (20). These components include a transmitter and an antenna (18) operatively connected to the transmitter for directing electrical or mechanical waves in a direction away from the transmitter. The antenna is adapted to also receive electrical and mechanical waves. The apparatus further includes a sounding tube adaptor (32) sized for attachment to a sounding tube, and a connector assembly operatively attaching the housing to the sounding tube adaptor. The connector assembly enabling the housing to rotate relative to the sounding tube adaptor about a horizontal axis to expose an open end of the sounding tube. In use, the level sensing apparatus allows for pulse radar measurement of liquid levels in the tank. The housing may be rotated relative to the sounding tube to also allow for manual level measurements or sampling of the tank contents.
