Functional diagnosis of an electromechanical fill state measuring device

A method for the functional diagnosis of an electromechanical fill state measuring device in which a displacement element on a measuring wire is lowered into a filling material in a container such that in an equilibrium state, the weight of the displacement element minus a displacement element buoyancy, which depends upon at least one equilibrium volume, is determined to be equal to a resulting weight of the displacement element. The resulting weight is specified, and the specified resulting weight is kept constant by correspondingly changing the length of the measuring wire in the equilibrium state. The fill state of the filling material is ascertained using the length of the lowered measuring wire. In order to diagnose a function, the specified value of the equilibrium volume of the displacement element is changed, and the resulting change in the length of the measuring wire is ascertained on the basis of the constant equilibrium state of the resulting weight.

A DEPTH MEASUREMENT APPARATUS
20190316461 · 2019-10-17 ·

A depth measurement apparatus for measuring the depth of a hole and/or the depth of any liquid or slurry in the hole. The depth measurement apparatus comprises a spool containing a length of cord having a bob attached to a free end of the cord remote from the spool. The bob is a solid body, preferably being in the shape of a sphere, a spheroid or an ellipsoid. The apparatus has a measuring device arranged to measure a length of the cord dispensed from the spool during use, which indicates the depth of the hole. The measuring device is also arranged to measure the acceleration rate at which the cord is dispensed from the spool, wherein a change in the acceleration rate indicates that the bob has entered a liquid or slurry.

In a submersible liquid level sensing system, a submersible transducer senses hydrostatic pressure of a liquid in which the transducer is submerged. In at least one embodiment, a pump controller controls the on/off operation of a pump in accordance with the sensed liquid level, based on an output of the transducer. The sensed liquid level is output by the transducer to the pump controller via a cable, which is covered by a ruggedized jacket configured to be slid over the cable and attached to the transducer. The jacket may be de-attached from the transducer with the jacketed cable operably connected to the transducer.

Composite hydrological monitoring system for detecting scour depth, water level and flow velocity

Disclosed is a composite hydrological monitoring system, in which a counterweight component and a test component are respectively connected to both opposite ends of a strip and a plurality of sensors are disposed at different vertical positions. Accordingly, the scour depth can be measured by sensing the location of the counterweight component, whereas the water level and/or flow velocity can be determined by signals from the sensors. When the counterweight component moves downward with sinking of the riverbed, the strip would be pulled down and thus causes the test component to present a change in mechanical energy. Accordingly, the sinking depth can be measured by sensing the change of the mechanical energy. Additionally, since the water level variation would cause signal changes of the sensors arranged in a row along a vertical direction, the change of water level can be determined accordingly.
