Ultraviolet-c (UV-c) light emitting diode (LED) irradiated forced airflow face shield
Disclosed herein is a forced irradiated air shielding mechanism that is an effective protective measure against Covid-19. The UV-C irradiated forced air flow face shield described herein is compact enough to be camouflaged under a cap. In this work it is mathematically proven that the described UV-C irradiated forced air flow face shield by itself provides more effective protection against the Covid-19 or similar airborne pathogens. The shield can be enabled using a mercury discharge tube or light emitting diode (LED) irradiator. Computational fluid dynamics is presented to show that positive irradiated air pressure ensures that the only air breathed by the wearer is irradiated. Also presented is a face shield testing apparatus.
MULTIPURPOSE PROTECTIVE RESPIRATORY HEADGEAR WITH ANTERIORLY MOUNTED EXCHANGEABLE CARTRIDGE
A protective respiratory system including: a multipurpose protective respiratory headgear including a nasolabial portion with triangular extrusion shape and an essentially rectangular horizontal recess, configured to receive an exchangeable filter cartridge, and an anteriorly mounted exchangeable filter cartridge, with a structured posterior outlet aperture, as well as method of using the same are described.
Combined goggle and face mask
A combined goggle and face mask includes a goggle body, a strap, a shield, and two retaining members. Either side of the goggle body is recessed with a receiving portion. The goggle body is provided with a lens. Either end of the strap is provided with a bracket to be coupled to the receiving portion. The bracket is supported by the receiving portion. The shield is coupled to the google body. The retaining member is coupled to the bracket. Because the bracket is received in the receiving portion, the bracket can be supported by the receiving portion, so as to offset the pulling force. First edges that are oblique edges and second edges each in the form of a curved corner of the bracket are supported by two oblique sides and two bent sides each in the form of a curved corner of the receiving portion.
FACE SHIELD AND METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME
A method of making a face shield using a bar tack stitch to join a face shield lens to a backing. The backing may be a headband or the combination of the headband and a cushion. The lens and the optional cushion may be joined together and then the lens may be stitched to the cushion and the headband. A bar tack stitch may be used to join the backing and lens together. Stitching the lens to its backing produces a novel face shield with high quality structural integrity that can be made quickly and cost effectively to eliminate limitations associated with bonded face shield lenses and removable joined face shield lenses.
FACE MASK WITH SMART FEATURES AND FUNCTIONS
Masks for being worn by a person are described herein. The masks include a shell configured to cover a nose and a mouth of the person, at least a portion of the shell having sufficient transparency to provide for visual observation of the mouth of the person when the person is wearing the mask. The shell includes an inhale port configured to provide for air to pass from an environment into a cavity defined by the shell when the person wearing the mask inhales and an exhale port configured to provide for air to pass from the cavity to the environment when the person wearing the mask exhales. The masks also include a retaining element coupled to the shell for retaining the mask on the person.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE APPARATUS WITH MESH SHIELD
A personal protective apparatus, having a wearable support member and a mesh shield securable thereto. The mesh shield may include first and second air-permeable conductive layers secured to the wearable support member and a first air-permeable non-conductive layer received between the first and second air-permeable conductive layers to separate them, and a portable power supply coupled to the mesh shield with a negative high voltage lead to the first air-permeable conductive layer and a positive high voltage lead to the second air-permeable conductive layer. The mesh shield may be a flexible mesh shield, and include at least one air-permeable layer secured at a first layer upper end to the wearable support member to hang from the wearable support member, the at least one air-permeable layer including at least one of an anti-virus material and an anti-microbial material. A fibrous filter layer may overlay an outer surface of the mesh shield.
FACE SHIELD FOR USE WITH DENTAL LOUPES
The face shield for use with dental loupes is a protective face shield for use by dentists, surgeons, medical practitioners and the like, and is adapted for usage when the user is wearing loupes. The face shield for use with dental loupes includes a curved transparent plate, with a substantially rectangular opening formed therethrough. A first pad is secured to an inner face of the curved transparent plate adjacent an upper end thereof, and is adapted for releasable positioning against the forehead of the user when the curved transparent plate is worn on the user’s head. The substantially rectangular opening is located adjacent the user’s eyes when the curved transparent plate is worn, such that the loupes worn by the user at least partially project therethrough. A first strap is connected to the laterally opposed side edges adjacent the first pad for holding the face shield on the user’s head.
LOW HAZE UV BLOCKING REMOVABLE LENS STACK
A protective lens stack comprises a base layer including a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film containing a UV blocking additive and one or more removable lens layers stacked on top of the base layer. Each of the removable lens layers may include a PET film and a first adhesive disposed on a bottom surface of the PET film. Refractive indices of the base layer and the one or more removable lens layers may be matched to within 0.2. Each layer of the protective lens stack, including the base layer and each of the removable lens layer(s), may have less than 0.5% haze. The protective lens stack may be used as a face shield or may be surface mountable using a second adhesive disposed on a bottom surface of the PET film containing the UV blocking additive.
COWL NECK BARRIER GOWN WITH ATTACHMENTS
This invention offers a fully protective cowl neck garment with various fasteners designed to attach additional protective gear, such as gloves and shoe coverings. Additionally, a temperature sensor shield is located on the hat and protective mask. This allows the clients or patients the ability to see and to monitor the temperature of their caregivers. The caregiver’s temperature is visible on the hat, as well as the face mask. This makes the caregivers accountable to their clients or patients, as well as their colleagues and coworkers. This invention eliminates the worry of contact with infectious diseases or dangerous liquids, by utilizing elastic manual ties and hook-and-loop fasteners to ensure the garment is secured fully on a user’s body. Overall, this invention ensures medical professionals, firemen, emergency medical personnel, government workers, and so forth, are protected fully from contagious and infectious diseases, liquids, and so forth.
Filter mask
A filter mask for biological material is provided wherein the filter mask has a fan assist for inhalation.
