Load cell with a means to compensate for errors due to misalignment
A load cell (1) has a deformable body with upper and lower contact surfaces (3, 4), through which a force is introduced. Support points (5) of the contact surfaces define a line of action (6) of the force. At least one column-shaped portion (7) of the deformable body has a central longitudinal axis (8) and a circumferential surface whose generating line runs parallel to the central longitudinal axis (8). A first determining means (9) installed on the column-shaped portion converts a mechanical deformation into an electronic signal, and a second determining means (10) installed on the column-shaped portion converts a deviation of the central longitudinal axis (8) from the line of action (6) into a representative signal. Each determining means has at least one strain gauge.
Scale with decoupling mechanism and windshield
A scale with a weighing system (14), a weighing chamber (16) that is delimited by a windshield (18), and a drive for opening and closing the windshield (18). The scale has a load transferring part (32, 34) with which the weight of the load is transferred onto the weighing system (14). A decoupling mechanism is mechanically connected to the drive for rotating the windshield (18) such that the weighing system (14) is mechanically decoupled from the load transferring part in the load direction if the windshield (18) is open in order to not introduce transverse forces into the weighing system (14) during loading of the weight.

A system to monitor weight of a reservoir or a structure comprises a load cell which comprises an electrical or optical transducer to provide a proportional signal of the deformation, a load cell base support for holding the load cell on the ground substantially about the axis of the support element of the reservoir, a load cell support adapter to attach the loadcell to the support member of the reservoir. The cell support adapter may comprise an opening or a shouldering anchor aiming at facilitating attachment to a temporary lifting device.
