An example imaging system includes a first IR imaging device configured to generate first IR image data and a second IR imaging device configured to generate second IR image data. The system further includes a computing device that receives the first IR image data from the first IR imaging device and receives the second IR image data from the second IR imaging device. The computing device further determines a first feature representing a position of a gas plume based upon the first IR image data and a second feature representing a position of the gas plume based upon the second IR image data and determines a disparity between the first and second features. The computing device further determines a distance between the imaging system and the gas plume based upon the determined disparity.
CIGARETTE TEMPERATURE DETECTION DEVICE AND METHOD
A cigarette temperature detection device including multiple cylindrical convex lenses is provided, wherein each of the cylindrical convex lenses has a thicker central wall between two thinner end walls formed by rotating a parallel line at a predetermined distance around a long axis of an elliptical-like section resulting from cutting the circular convex lens by a plane perpendicular to a centerline. The disclosed cigarette temperature detection device allows accurate and reliable detection of a temperature of an entire circumferential surface of a cigarette on site.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MONITORING REMOTE INSTALLATIONS
A system for monitoring a petrochemical installation is disclosed. The system can include an optical imaging system comprising an array of optical detectors. The system can comprise processing electronics configured to process image data detected by the optical imaging system. The processing electronics can be configured to detect a target species based at least in part on the processed image data. The processing electronics can further be configured to, based on a detected amount of the target species, transmit an alarm notification to an external computing device over a communications network indicating that the target species has been detected at the petrochemical installation.
SYSTEMS, METHODS, AND COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCTS FOR DETECTION LIMIT DETERMINATIONS FOR HYPERSPECTRAL IMAGING
Systems, methods, and computer program products for thermal contrast determinations are provided. An example imaging system includes a first infrared (IR) imaging device that generates first IR image data of a field of view of the first IR imaging device and a computing device connected with the first IR imaging device. The computing device receives probe temperature data from a temperature probe indicative of an external environment of the imaging system and receives the first IR image data from the first IR imaging device. The computing device determines background temperature data based upon the first IR image data, determines gas temperature data based upon the probe temperature data, and determines a thermal contrast for each pixel based upon a comparison between the background temperature data and the gas temperature data. The computing device further determines a detection limit for each pixel as a function of thermal contrast.
Device for the temperature-compensated optical detection of an oxygen content of a fluid
A sensor arrangement includes a reaction subassembly having a housing and a detector subassembly. The housing is a layered component arrangement encompassing a luminophore-containing reaction laminate excitable, by irradiation with a first electromagnetic radiation of a first wavelength, to emit a second electromagnetic radiation of a second wavelength different from the first wavelength; and a temperature-detection laminate emitting an infrared radiation. The housing includes an opening for introducing a fluid, a reaction window and a temperature-sensing window. The reaction window transmits the first and second electromagnetic radiation, and the temperature-sensing window is penetrable by infrared radiation. The detector subassembly encompasses a radiation source emitting the first electromagnetic radiation, a radiation detector detecting the second electromagnetic radiation, and an infrared detector detecting, through the temperature detection window, the infrared radiation emitted from the temperature detection laminate. The reaction laminate and the temperature-detection laminate are embodied separately.
SEMICONDUCTOR DEVICE FOR DETECTING ULTRAVIOLET AND INFRARED RADIATION AND RELATED MANUFACTURING PROCESS
A semiconductor device for flame detection, including: a semiconductor body having a first conductivity type conductivity, delimited by a front surface and forming a cathode region; an anode region having a second conductivity type conductivity, which extends within the semiconductor body, starting from the front surface, and forms, together with the cathode region, the junction of a photodiode that detect ultraviolet radiation emitted by the flames; a supporting dielectric region; and a sensitive region, which is arranged on the supporting dielectric region and varies its own resistance as a function of the infrared radiation emitted by the flames.
DETECTION UNIT AND METHOD FOR IDENTIFYING AND MONITORING CLOUDS IN AN OBSERVED AREA OF THE SKY
A detecting assembly and method for identifying and tracking clouds in a zone of the sky being observed where some thermal-infrared flux emitted the zone is collected and transmitted to a thermal-infrared detector, the detector including a sensor sensitive to the flux in a set band of wavelengths, a measurement of the actual temperature and actual relative humidity of the air at ground level is carried out and the vertical temperature and water vapor distribution is deduced therefrom, the dataset relating to the thermal-infrared signal emitted by a reference sky for the vertical temperature and water vapor distribution is stimulated or obtained, the dataset thus simulated or obtained is subtracted from the dataset measured by the sensor to determine if clouds are present in the zone, and the dataset thus obtained is processed in order to compute the optical thickness and/or altitude of each cloud in the observation area.
ANALYTE SPATIAL DETECTION SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Techniques are disclosed for systems and methods to provide reliable analyte spatial detection systems. An analyte spatial detection system includes an imaging module, a visible light projector, associated processing and control electronics, and, optionally, orientation and/or position sensors integrated with the imaging module and/or the visible light projector. The imaging module includes sensor elements configured to detect electromagnetic radiation in one or more selected spectrums, such as infrared, visible light, and/or other spectrums. The visible light projector includes one or more types of projectors configured project visible light within a spatial volume monitored by the imaging module. The system may be partially or completely portable and/or fixed in place. The visible light projector is used to indicate presence of a detected analyte on a surface near or adjoining the spatial position of the detected analyte.
Systems and methods for adaptive monitoring of a shipping container for an environmental anomaly
An adaptive method and system for monitoring a shipping container for an environmental anomaly uses sensor-based ID nodes within the container and a command node. Sensors on each ID node generate sensor data about an environmental condition proximate the ID node as disposed within the container. Each ID node periodically broadcasts the sensor data. The command node monitors a first group of sensor data from the ID nodes over a first time period to detect an initial environmental threshold condition related to the container, then monitors a subsequent group of sensor data over a second time period under a modified monitoring parameter to detect a secondary environmental threshold condition related to the container as the anomaly. In response to detecting the secondary condition, the command node generates an alert notification and transmits the alert notification to an external transceiver to initiate a mediation response related to the anomaly.
On-board diesel emissions diagnostic and monitoring system
In an apparatus and system for monitoring and communicating emissions data for a diesel engine, an exhaust gas analyzer uses laser light passed through a diffuser to measure the quantity of trace gases and particulates in an exhaust gas outlet from a diesel engine. The analysis chamber possesses superhydrophobic, superhydrophilic, and/or superoleophobic properties to reduce VOC-occlusion of the transparent chamber walls. A radio transmitter, cellular data transmitter, or Smartphone transmits measurement data. In a diagnostic and monitoring system for a diesel engine, the exhaust gas analyzer is in contact with the exhaust gases from the diesel engine, preferably in the tailpipe. A data receiver receives the transmitted measurement data.
