Systems, apparatus, and methods for detecting an environmental anomaly and initiating an enhanced automatic response using elements of a wireless node network using ID nodes and environmental threshold conditions per ID node
Systems and methods are described for monitoring, detecting, and initiating a response to an environmental anomaly within a shipping container of packages involves sensor-based ID nodes, a command node and an external transceiver on a transit vehicle. Each ID node generates and broadcasts sensor data on environmental conditions proximate the respective ID node within the shipping container. The command node detects the sensor data from each ID node and compares it with locally maintained context data (an environmental threshold condition) for that ID node to detect the environmental anomaly when sensor data exceeds a respective threshold condition. The command node then generates a layered alert notification related to the environmental anomaly identifying a targeted mediation recipient and targeted mediation action, and establishing a mediation response priority. The command node initiates a mediation response related to the targeted mediation action by transmitting the layered alert notification transmitted to the external transceiver.

Systems and methods that integrate thermal sensors into PED's, where those sensors may include single, or small number, of pixel temperature sensors up to full image capable built-in thermal cameras acting as an additional camera for a PED user. These sensors may be associated with dedicated thermal applications for expert users. For less expert consumers, a capability to pass thermal data through the native visible camera application (app), whose use is already familiar to the PED user, will be provided. This integration of thermal image data with the visible image and familiar visible camera app controls is intended to provide any user with useful thermal information regardless of degree of familiarity with thermal information.
Apparatus and systems for detecting an environmental anomaly related to a shipping container using a package command node
A package command node detects an environmental anomaly related to a shipment package for transport within a shipping container on a transit vehicle having an external transceiver. The package command node has a command node housing disposed with the package, a processor within the housing, a memory maintaining package command node environmental detection program code, and a wireless transceiver communication interface that communicates with sensor-based ID nodes generating sensor data from different parts of the container. The package command node's processor is programmatically configured to detect the ID node sensor data; identify the anomaly when the detected sensor data indicates an environmental condition that exceeds an environmental threshold; generate an alert notification related to the anomaly; and transmit the alert notification to the external transceiver to initiate a mediation response related to the environmental anomaly.
Systems and apparatus for enhanced detection of an environmental anomaly related to a shipping container using a node-enhanced detection blanket
A blanket apparatus is described for enhanced detecting of an environmental anomaly relative to a shipping container temporarily maintaining packages. Generally, the apparatus includes a detection blanket disposed proximate the packages and multiple sensor-based ID nodes integrated as part of the detection blanket in a geographically disperse configuration relative to the detection blanket. Each of the sensor-based ID nodes has a processor, memory (with ID node monitoring program code), an environmental sensor, and a wireless radio transceiver. The sensor generates sensor data related to an environmental condition adjacent the sensor and indicative of the environmental anomaly when the sensor data generated is above a threshold condition for that sensor. The transceiver is configured to access and broadcast the sensor data generated in response to a report command from the ID node's processor when the ID node processor executes the ID node monitoring program code.
CONNECTED MONITORING SYSTEM
A multi-zone monitoring system is disclosed. The system includes a plurality of sensor modules configured to monitor conditions in a plurality of detection zones. The sensor modules include a combination of detection devices configured to detect different conditions based on a designated zone of each sensor module. The system further includes a reporting device in communication with each of the sensor modules. The reporting device is configured to report the status of each of the detection zones based on indications communicated via the detection devices in the corresponding detection zone.

System and method for thermo-mechanical monitoring of a solar receiver
A concentrated solar power (CSP) plant includes: a plurality of heliostats or a heliostat field; a substantially cylindrical solar energy receiver located atop a central tower and having an external surface covered with receiver panels and a heat shield adjacent the solar receiver, the heliostats reflecting solar energy to the external surface of the receiver, each receiver panel including a plurality of heat exchanger tubes configured to transport a heat transfer fluid, which are partly exposed on the external surface of the receiver; and a thermo-mechanical monitoring system for ensuring integrity of the solar receiver panel tubes in operation. The thermomechanical monitoring system includes at least: a plurality of thermal imaging devices located on ground and mounted each on a securing and orienting device, for measuring infrared radiation emitted by the external surface of the receiver and providing a panel temperature-dependent signal in an area of the external surface.
SYSTEM FOR MONITORING A SWITCHGEAR
A system for monitoring a switchgear includes: an infrared camera for acquiring at least one infrared image of the switchgear; a processing unit for determining a pixel in the at least one infrared image associated with a hottest temperature, determining e pixels in the at least one infrared image associated with a temperature that is within a threshold temperature of the hottest temperature, and determining that a hot spot exists in the switchgear as a determination, the determination being a utilization of the determined pixels in the at least one infrared image; and an output unit for outputting an indication of a fault in the switchgear based on the determined hot spot.
Systems and methods for monitoring remote installations
A system for monitoring a petrochemical installation is disclosed. The system can include an optical imaging system comprising an array of optical detectors. The system can comprise processing electronics configured to process image data detected by the optical imaging system. The processing electronics can be configured to detect a target species based at least in part on the processed image data. The processing electronics can further be configured to, based on a detected amount of the target species, transmit an alarm notification to an external computing device over a communications network indicating that the target species has been detected at the petrochemical installation.
Systems and Methods for Adaptive Monitoring of a Shipping Container for an Environmental Anomaly
An adaptive method and system for monitoring a shipping container for an environmental anomaly uses sensor-based ID nodes within the container and a command node. Sensors on each ID node generate sensor data about an environmental condition proximate the ID node as disposed within the container. Each ID node periodically broadcasts the sensor data. The command node monitors a first group of sensor data from the ID nodes over a first time period to detect an initial environmental threshold condition related to the container, then monitors a subsequent group of sensor data over a second time period under a modified monitoring parameter to detect a secondary environmental threshold condition related to the container as the anomaly. In response to detecting the secondary condition, the command node generates an alert notification and transmits the alert notification to an external transceiver to initiate a mediation response related to the anomaly.
