Methods and systems are provided for an adaptive article of clothing. In one example, the adaptive article of clothing may have a first front tail panel and a second front tail panel configured to overlap while wrapping at least partially around a front of a wearer in opposite directions in a first worn configuration and hang open in a second worn configuration. A top portion of at least one of the first front tail panel and the second front tail panel may be detachably coupled in a shoulder region of the adaptive article of clothing to enable access to the wearer while the adaptive article of clothing is worn in each of the first worn configuration and the second worn configuration.

The garment may include a first closure configured to secure the garment around the torso of the infant, a second closure configured to secure the garment over a shoulder corresponding to a fractured clavicle of the infant, and a sleeve configured to extend around an upper and lower arm of the infant on a same lateral side of the garment as the second closure. The sleeve may include at least a third closure configured to secure the sleeve around the upper and lower arm of the infant. A portion of the sleeve may be affixed to a portion of the garment, the portion of the garment to which the sleeve may be affixed being located over the torso of the infant when the garment is secured around the torso of the infant.

A wound recovery garment includes a multilayer fabric. The multilayer fabric comprises a first layer, a second layer, and a third layer. The multilayer fabric draws moisture from the skin tissues, including wounded or burned tissue recovering from trauma. The first layer removes moisture from wounded tissue without sticking to skin. The first layer is formed from compressive, elastic material that supplies compression forces to tissue. The second layer is an absorbent layer that receives the moisture from the first layer and stores tissue moisture in a sponge-like fashion. The second layer is disposed between the first layer and the third layer. The third layer is an exterior layer and is visible to outside viewers. No body fluid or blood leaks through the third layer. Individuals recovering from trauma are able to comfortably go outside without being concerned with body fluids soaking through and being visible to others.

A collar pull tab, having a pull fastener, extends outward near the collar. A mating fastener is on the collar portion or the back portion. Engaging the first arm fasteners and mating fasteners dons the sweater over the existing attire of the wearer, without disruption the medical connections. Based on the plackets and pull tab(s), a wearer can single-handedly don and remove the sweater, adding self-sufficient comfort with a medical procedure.

A garment for wearing post-surgery, comprising first and second panel portions constructed of an elastic material, a closure mechanism for detachably attaching the edges of the panel portions, and, an elastic support band associated with either the upper or bottom area of the panel portions. The garment may further include at least one retention strip of material associated in at least one place on the first or second panel portions. At least one retention member is adapted to removably attach to the retention strip. At least one pouch that can hold a drainage bulb, monitoring device, or other item, may also be removably attached to the retention strip. The garment may be constructed as a vest, girdle, leg sleeve, or other form.

Garments with post-operative drain compartments along an interior of the garment are manufactured and provided to a pediatric (child or adolescent) patients after surgery. The garment has a first plurality of post-operative drain compartments on a first side of the garment and a second plurality of post-operative drain compartments on a second side of the garment. Each of the post-operative drain compartments supports a reservoir of a post-operative drain. After a surgical procedure involving post-operative drains as part of recovery, a child or adolescent wears the garment and inserts the reservoir of a post-operative drain into one of the post-operative drain compartments. The garment supports at least four post-operative drains. One of the post-operative drain compartments is disposed above another one of the post-operative drain compartments. Each of the openings post-operative drain compartments remains open and does not include any fastening mechanism.
