Hospital gowns and method of making the same
Hospital gowns and methods of making hospital gowns are provided. For example, a hospital gown is provided that includes a front panel comprising an exterior surface and an opposite interior surface and a back panel comprising an exterior surface and an opposite interior surface. The front panel can be releasably securable to the back panel at different locations to create a gown with the interior surface of the front panel facing the interior surface of the back panel to form a releasable right shoulder portion, a releasable left shoulder portion, a releasable right side portion and releasable left side portion of the gown.
MEDICAL GARMENT AND METHODS OF MAKING THEREOF
A medical garment comprising a first panel and a second panel, the first and second panels being configured to connect at a first side of the garment and at a second side of the garment, wherein the second side of the garment comprises a second connection portion wherein the first panel and the second panel connect at a first permanent connection point. Also a garment comprising a first panel, second panel, and third panel, wherein the first panel is configured to connect to the third panel at a first side of the garment by a first permanent connection fastener and the second panel is configured to connect to the third panel at the first side of the garment by a second permanent connection fastener, the first permanent connection fastener is configured to provide a first slit, and the second permanent connection fastener is configured to provide a second slit.
Cardiac implantable electronic device pocket compression apparatus and method of mitigating localized bleeding using same
A method mitigates pocket bleeding and hematoma formation in a patient by providing a pliable wrap having a solid block coupled with the wrap, and then securing the pliable wrap around the torso of the patient to align the solid block with the located localized torso area. The solid block at least in part covers the localized torso area. The wrap is secured to cause the wrap to apply a force, to the solid block, that produces a corresponding pressure on the localized torso area. The force applied to the solid block is high enough to cause the pressure to hinder blood flow to the localized torso area to promote clotting at the localized torso area. At the same time, the force applied to the solid block is low enough to cause the pressure to permit blood flow to the localized torso area to promote healing.
Secretion clearance and cough assist
A device operates for secretion clearance and cough assistance by means of transdermal stimulation of muscle groups including the pectoralis majoris, the serratus anterior, and the abdominal muscles. The various muscle groups may be stimulated in different ways: not just different pulse trains but in addition, different stimulations to accomplish different phases of clearance or cough assistance. In a first phase a vibration action provided by the muscles (for example the pectoralis and serratus) is used to encourage the motion of mucus and other secretions within airways. In a second phase, the abdominal muscles for example might be stimulated differently so as to cause not a vibration but instead a coughing action, especially to detect and assist a natural cough. The invention further teaches a zone stimulator large enough to span and stimulate major muscles or groups of large muscles effectively.
Systems and methods for effective reuse of a self-contained portable positionable oscillating motor array
In some embodiments, a method may include inhibiting contamination of a medical device. The method may include positioning a first shield on a torso of a subject. The first shield may inhibit transmission of solid and fluid contaminants. The method may include positioning a wearable harness of a medical device on a torso of a first subject. The method may include positioning a second shield on a torso of a subject such that the wearable harness is positioned between the first shield and the second shield. The second shield may inhibit transmission of solid and fluid contaminants. The method may include applying an oscillation force to at least one of the treatment areas using at least some of a plurality of engines coupled to the wearable harness. The method may include mobilizing at least some secretions in an airway within the subject substantially adjacent to the treatment areas.
Garment with draping and access for medical treatment, diagnosis and care
A garment of general loose fit is provided surrounding the back and torso with sides extended to overlapping front panels and multiple points and/or regions of coupling to provide segmental and/or incremental access to regions of the body of the wearer for visual diagnostic access and for ease of access for application of treatment materials; data and treatment conduits and lines; and functions such as nursing by a mother.
GARMENT FOR USE WITH STOMAS
Disclosed herein are form-fitting garments configured to hold an ostomy pouch close to the body via a shaped interior pocket creating a barrier between the pouch and skin of an individual. The garment may include a plurality of pockets such that an unused pocket may serve to hold additional supplies. The garment is preferably configured to have a maximum stretch in the horizontal direction allowing for the expansion of the pouch while having minimal stretching in the vertical direction to prevent the interior pocket and garment from sagging under the weight of the pouch.
Medically Accessible Clothing
Garments configured for medical access are disclosed. An upper-body garment comprises a torso portion, a neck opening, and a pair of sleeves. The upper-body garment further comprises at least one access configured to provide access to the underlying body. The at least one access may be a chest access, an arm access, or combinations thereof. Each access is openable and closable via a resealable element. A lower-body garment comprises a waistband and a pair of legs. The lower-body garment further comprises at least one access configured to provide access to the underlying body openable and closable via a resealable element. A clothing ensemble configured for medical procedure access comprises the upper-body garment and the lower-body garment.
RECOVEREASE-A FOUR-WAY STRETCH GARMENT OR UNDERGARMENT WITH AN ELASTICATED POCKET TO COMFORTABLY SECURE AND HOLD MEDICAL APPARATUS OR OTHER ITEMS CLOSE TO THE BODY
The present invention relates to a novel garment design for holding, storing or securing items, including but not limited to medical apparatus such as surgical drain tubes, drug dosing systems, and any other items or apparatus in general, close to the body in order to make them unobtrusive, concealable and comfortable to wear.
Thermal insulating material and method
An insulating material and a method using that material for preventing perioperative hypothermia in hospital patients. Hospital blankets, hospital gowns and thermal wraps are made with the insulating material, which comprises in one embodiment an inner layer and an outer layer of a nonwoven material and a middle layer of a polymer laminate material. The nonwoven material is a bicomponent coextruded spunbond nonwoven polypropylene and polyethylene textile and the polymer laminate material comprises polyethylene and metallised polyethylene terephthalate. The nonwoven material is arranged with an elastic such that the insulating material can change between a first configuration wherein the elastic is stretched such that the primary material lies adjacent to it, and a second configuration wherein the elastic is relaxed such that the primary material is bowed with respect to it, forming at least one cavity for entrapping air.
