Multi-configuration thermometer

A multi-configuration electronic thermometer operates in any of a plurality of modes, including a rectal mode, an underarm mode and an oral mode. A probe arm swings about an axis that is located closer to one end of an elongate thermometer body than it is to the other end. In a first, rectal configuration, only a limited length of the probe arm extends beyond a front end of the thermometer body. In a second configuration, the probe arm is swung to a position such that its free end is farther from a second end of the body than it was from the first end while in the first configuration. The probe arm is spring-loaded to lock to a user-selected one of the configurations and is torsionally biased to the more compact, first configuration. Different sensing algorithms are used depending on the mode selected.

PUMPING CASSETTE

A pump cassette is disclosed. The pump cassette includes a housing having at least one fluid inlet line and at least one fluid outlet line. The cassette also includes at least one reciprocating pressure displacement membrane pump within the housing. The pressure pump pumps a fluid from the fluid inlet line to the fluid outlet line. A hollow spike is also included on the housing as well as at least one metering pump. The metering pump is fluidly connected to the hollow spike on the housing and to a metering pump fluid line. The metering pump fluid line is fluidly connected to the fluid outlet line.

Temperature Sensor Probe

A temperature sensor including a body made from a thermally and electrically conductive material, the body defined by a peripheral wall extending along a longitudinal axis from an open proximal end to a closed distal end. The proximal end defining an opening to an internal cavity of the body. A thermally responsive element including an outer surface, a temperature sensitive resistor electrically connected to a first lead, a second lead, and a connector block disposed substantially within the internal cavity. The inner surface of the peripheral wall defines the shape of a right circular cone at the distal end. The outer surface of the temperature sensitive resistor is in direct contact with the inner surface of the peripheral wall at the distal end. One of a thermally conductive and curable potting material and a thermally conductive grease disposed in the cavity and substantially surrounding the temperature responsive element.

A device (1) for the detecting and registering of measurement data, having a first housing (2) in which electronics (7) are arranged, and having at least one sensor (14), which is electrically connected to the electronics (7). The first housing (2) includes at least two housing parts (3, 4), having at least one metallic connection site and being joined together at the connection site by a gas-tight metal/metal connection. The at least one sensor (13) is arranged in a second housing (11), which encloses the first housing (2) substantially entirely, and which includes at least two housing parts (12, 15), which are detachably joined together or can be so joined.
