The invention relates to a method for operating a power tool, according to which a measuring device determines a winding resistance (R.sub.S) of a winding of an electric motor of the power tool. A test signal source applies a test signal (i.sub.p) to the winding during operation of the electric motor, a measuring unit records at least one measured value (U.sub.d, i.sub.d) as a reaction of the winding to the test signal (i.sub.p), and a control device determines the winding resistance (R.sub.S) while taking into consideration the measured value (U.sub.d, i.sub.d).

Method and apparatus for controlling LED operation of a storage system

LED operation rules correlating device event, LED action, LED color, and optionally LED brightness are specified in software. As devices connect to a host computer, a correlation between device ID and USB port is detected. A port map for the storage system is used to correlate the location of a USB port where the electronic device connected to a set of LEDs on the storage system. As the states of the electronic devices connected to the storage system change, the custom-defined LED operational rules are applied on the LEDs of the storage system to cause the LEDs identified by the LED operational rules to be illuminated. Since the LED operational rules are customizable, a user can cause any combination of LED action, color, and brightness to be associated with any electronic device state.

Method and system for battery management for mobile geofencing devices

A method and system for battery management for a mobile geofence apparatus. Location information for a vehicle, temperature information for the vehicle and battery information for the internal battery on the mobile geofence apparatus is automatically, continuously and periodically collected and sent during a connection interval in real-time to an external network server network device via a communications network for tracking the vehicle in real-time. The battery information is displayed on the mobile geofence apparatus for a viewer and is also sent to an external server network device for display to a viewer. Internal battery usage is automatically managed internally on the mobile geofence apparatus using the collected location, battery and temperature information. The internal battery on the mobile geofence apparatus is also automatically managed externally via the external server network device using the collected location, battery and temperature information.

PROTECTION SYSTEM FOR ELECTROMAGNETIC RELAY
20230081030 · 2023-03-16 ·

A protection system for an electromagnetic relay mounted on a vehicle is configured to protect the electromagnetic relay from causing a coupling failure due to freezing of the electromagnetic relay. The system includes a temperature detector, a cooler, and a control unit. The temperature detector sequentially measures an ambient temperature of a location in which the electromagnetic relay is disposed and outputs information on a change in the ambient temperature. The cooler cools an electric power line coupled to a fixing terminal of the electromagnetic relay. The control unit activates the cooler to cool the electric power line in a case where the control unit determines that the electromagnetic relay has a possibility of freezing on the basis of the information on the change in the ambient temperature from the temperature detector.

Methods and systems are provided for diagnosing potential degradation of a fuel tank pressure sensor. In one example, a method may include, in response to an ambient pressure reading by the fuel tank pressure sensor during an evaporative emissions (EVAP) system diagnostic, applying vacuum to the EVAP system and indicating degradation of the fuel tank pressure sensor if the canister undergoes an endothermic reaction. If the fuel tank pressure sensor is determined to not be degraded, the method further includes distinguishing between the ambient pressure reading being caused by a leak in the EVAP system and a canister purge valve being stuck closed.
