Temperature indicator for culinary article
The invention relates to a particle with a core-shell structure, the core of which comprises at least one thermochromic semiconductor and the shell comprises at least two layers—an inner layer in contact with the core and comprising a mineral material or an organo-mineral hybrid material; and—an outer layer comprising a mineral material or an organo-mineral hybrid material, different from that of the inner layer. The invention also relates to a method for producing this particle, and the use thereof as a temperature indicator, in particular in a culinary article, such as a pan.

UNIT CELL INCLUDING THERMOCHROMIC POLYMER AND DEFECT DETECTION METHOD USING THE SAME
A unit cell including a thermochromic polymer and a defect detection method using the same are disclosed. Preferably, the unit cell includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a separator disposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, wherein the separator includes a thermochromic polymer configured such that the color of the thermochromic polymer changes depending on temperature, whereby the unit cell is easily checked to indicate a short circuit, as well as damage to or defects of the separator.
Polymers, thermochromic agents, and/or hydrogel compositions and apparatus, including products embodying the same, and methods and processes for making same
Polymers, hydrogels, and thermochromic agents, including products embodying them, methods of using them, and processes for making them. In certain embodiments, temperature therapy packs which utilize thermochromic agents integrated into solid, semi-solid, or liquid hydrogels. In preferred (but optional) embodiments, the thermochromic agents are integrated into the composition used as the temperature exchange material of the therapy pack. In certain other embodiments, methods of using the thermochromic integrated temperature exchange materials, or processes for manufacturing such thermochromic integrated temperature exchange materials and/or methods or processes for manufacturing or using thermal packs embodying such materials. In certain particularly preferred embodiments, novel polymer compositions and/or processes for making polymers, which improve product durability or longevity and/or which improve use cycles or usage times.
Thermochromic sensing for nanocalorimetry
A nanocalorimeter device includes a substrate having test cells, each test cell comprising a sample location. Each sample location includes a reaction surface suitable for an enthalpic reaction of constituents of liquid droplets, droplet movement and configured to merge the droplets, and a layer of thermochromic material thermally coupled to the reaction surface. The thermochromic material is configured to exhibit a spectral shift in light emanating from the thermochromic material in response to a change in temperature of the merged droplets.

Workpiece unit
A workpiece unit that includes a workpiece, a tape stuck to the workpiece; and an annular frame to which an outer circumferential edge of the tape is stuck and which has an opening defined centrally therein. The workpiece is disposed in the opening in the annular frame and supported on the annular frame by the tape, and at least one of the tape and the annular frame has an irreversible discoloring section that discolors in response to an external stimulus. Such a configuration makes it possible to determine whether or not a process involving an external stimulus has been carried out on the workpiece unit, based on the appearance of the workpiece unit (i.e., based on whether the irreversible discoloring section has been discolored or not).
