The polymer gel electrolyte comprises: a copolymer comprising an ionic domain and a non-ionic domain; and an ionic liquid, and having a plurality of ion clusters (ICs) formed as an ionic moiety of the ionic domain is bonded to the ionic liquid
Calibration determination device and calibration determination method for calibrating the tension of a bonding member
A calibration determination device includes: a free roll that conveys the bonding member; a load detection device that detects a load applied to a bearing of the free roll; a tension adjustment device that winds the bonding member to increase a tension applied to the bonding member and unwinds the bonding member to reduce the tension applied to the bonding member so as to adjust the tension applied to the bonding member; and a calibration determination unit that determines whether calibration of the load detection device is necessary. The tension adjustment device unwinds the bonding member to cause the bonding member not to be subjected to the tension, and the calibration determination unit determines whether the calibration of the load detection device is necessary based on the load detected by the load detection device with the bonding member not being subjected to the tension.
PLUGGING FORCE TEST APPARATUS
A test apparatus for verifying plugging force of an electrical component having sockets for receiving one or more corresponding plugs in a push fit arrangement. The test apparatus includes a load plate with a support surface orthogonal to first and a second axes. A holder retains the first electrical component on the load plate. A plurality of load cells supports the load plate at spaced locations. A plugging force applied to the first electrical component via the second electrical component is transferred to the plurality of load cells. A processor is provided for receiving load cell data corresponding to the force applied to each load cell respectively. The processor determines the magnitude of the plugging force and the location at which the plugging force is applied to the first electrical component relative to the first and second axes of the load plate.
VARIABLE SAMPLING RATE WITHIN A FOOT FORCE DETECTION SYSTEM
A method includes determining, by a processing module of a foot force detection system, an athletic mode. The method further includes, when the athletic mode is active, determining, by the processing module, an athletic burst mode. The method further includes determining, by the processing module, a sampling rate for the foot force detection system based on the athletic burst mode for sampling foot force data.
Sensing device
A sensing device including a sensor, a triggering mechanism is provided. The sensing device is attachable to a covering positioned in contact with a body such that the triggering mechanism extends between first and second segments of the body. Movement of at least one of the first and second segments activates the triggering mechanism to provide an input to the sensor, actuating the sensor to generate an output defining at least one measurement of the movement. The measurement may be one or more of rotation, translation, velocity, acceleration, and joint angle. An intermediate mechanism may be interposed between the triggering mechanism and the sensor. The sensing device may include a means to process or record measurements corresponding to movement. A system and method of measuring the movement is also provided.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING FORCE SENSOR
Provided is a method for manufacturing a force sensor including: preparing a first substrate which is made of a material that transmits electromagnetic waves and includes on its surface a metal array arranged in a periodic pattern and a second substrate which includes on its surface a metal layer that reflects electromagnetic waves; forming a spacer member on the surface of the first substrate; forming a first metal layer around the spacer member on the surface of the first substrate; forming a second metal layer in a region corresponding to the first metal layer on the second substrate; and fusing the first metal layer and the second metal layer together to fix the first substrate and the second substrate in a state in which the spacer member formed on the surface of the first substrate abuts the surface of the second substrate.
Multi-modal vehicle door handle
A door handle includes a handle body with an external surface, an internal portion, and a mounting feature configured to couple the handle body to a door. The door handle also includes a force sensing element disposed in the internal portion of the handle body. The first force sensing element is configured to measure a force applied to the external surface of the door handle. The door handle further includes a communication element coupled to the force sensing element. The force measured by the force sensing element is used to determine an output function.
SYSTEM AND METHOD USING A HAND-MOUNTED FORCE SENSOR TO VERIFY INSTALLATION OF CONNECTOR-POSITION-ASSURANCE ENABLED ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR
The present invention is a system and method using a hand-mounted force sensor to verify installation of a CPA-enabled electrical connector. The system has at least one CPA-enabled electrical connector with a locking button; at least one hand-mounted force sensor; an interface board; a transmission channel; a system processor; a non-transitory computer readable memory element; a display; and an input. The hand-mounted force sensors have an electrical output that is proportional to the force. The method is accomplished with the steps of mounting at least one force sensor so that it will record the force exerted when depressing a locking button of a CPA-enabled electrical connector; depressing the locking button; measuring the force; recording the force; comparing the force to a pre-determined threshold; passing the CPA-enabled electrical connector if the force was less than the pre-determined threshold and otherwise failing it.
Micro electro-mechanical strain displacement sensor and system for monitoring health and usage of a structure
A low power consumption multi-contact micro electro-mechanical strain/displacement sensor and miniature autonomous self-contained systems for recording of stress and usage history with direct output suitable for fatigue and load spectrum analysis are provided. In aerospace applications the system can assist in prediction of fatigue of a component subject to mechanical stresses as well as in harmonizing maintenance and overhauls intervals. In alternative applications, i.e. civil structures, general machinery, marine and submarine vessels, etc., the system can autonomously record strain history, strain spectrum or maximum values of the strain over a prolonged period of time using an internal power supply or a power supply combined with an energy harvesting device. The sensor is based on MEMS technology and incorporates a micro array of flexible micro or nano-size cantilevers. The system can have extremely low power consumption while maintaining precision and temperature/humidify independence.
