DIAGNOSING CYLINDER PRESSURE SENSOR GAIN AND OFFSET
An apparatus includes a sensor module, an offset diagnostic module, and a notification module. The sensor module is in operative communication with a cylinder pressure sensor and structured to acquire cylinder pressure data from the cylinder pressure sensor indicative of an actual in-cylinder pressure of a cylinder of an engine. The offset diagnostic module is structured to interpret the cylinder pressure data to determine an offset of the cylinder pressure sensor based on a reference in-cylinder pressure and the actual in-cylinder pressure. The notification module is structured to provide an offset error notification responsive to the offset being greater than a threshold offset.

Internal combustion engine, in particular as drive engine for a vehicle
An internal combustion engine, as a drive engine for a vehicle, including an engine braking device having a throttle element which is associated with an exhaust gas section, for damming an exhaust gas which is emitted by a combustion device, and including a measuring device by means of which the exhaust gas pressure can be measured at a defined measuring region of the exhaust gas section upstream of the throttle element as seen in the exhaust gas flow direction. According to the disclosure, it is provided that at least one further measuring device is provided, by means of which the exhaust gas pressure can be measured at the defined measuring region, for realizing a redundant exhaust gas pressure measurement, and the measurement signals which are determined by means of the measuring devices can be transmitted to a controller for controlling the throttle element.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DETERMINING DIFFERENTIAL AND RELATIVE PRESSURE USING A CONTROLLER
An aftertreatment system comprises a housing defining an internal volume. A filter is disposed in the housing and configured to remove particulate matter included in the exhaust gas. A delta pressure sensor configured to measure an inlet apparent pressure value upstream of the filter. An ambient pressure sensor separate from the delta pressure sensor is configured to measure an ambient pressure value of an ambient environment in which the aftertreatment system is located. A controller is configured to receive the inlet apparent pressure value, receive the ambient pressure value from the ambient pressure sensor, determine a relative inlet exhaust pressure value based upon the inlet apparent pressure value and the ambient pressure value, and adjust an exhaust flow rate of the exhaust gas based at least on the relative inlet exhaust pressure value.

DIAGNOSTIC TECHNIQUES FOR A SURGE VALVE OF A TURBOCHARGED ENGINE
Diagnostic systems and methods for a surge valve that selectively bypasses a compressor of a turbocharger of an engine involve receiving, by a controller, a barometric pressure signal indicative of a barometric pressure external to the engine, receiving, by the controller, a throttle inlet pressure (TIP) signal indicative of an air pressure at an inlet of a throttle valve of the engine and downstream from the surge valve and the compressor, and performing, by the controller, a diagnostic technique on the surge valve, the diagnostic technique comprising generating a pressure ratio signal that is a ratio of the TIP signal to the barometric pressure signal, applying a high-pass filter to the pressure ratio signal to obtain a filtered pressure ratio signal, and based on a quantity of detected pulses in the filtered pressure ratio signal that exceed the diagnostic threshold, detecting a malfunction of the surge valve.
