Disclosed is a connecting device for connecting a gas sensor to a gas leak detector. The gas sensor includes an elongate sensor housing. The gas leak detector includes at least one gas connector adapted to be connected to the gas sensor. A guide rail connects to the gas leak detector, engaging with the sensor housing such that the gas connectors engage with at least one complementary second gas connector. A fastening claw includes two elastic spring legs arranged at one of the sensor housing and the gas leak detector. Each of the two spring legs includes a latching boss engaging the frontal end of the gas sensor opposite the second gas connector and a spreading element having two retaining arms. Each retaining arm includes a pulling edge, an inclined insertion portion along which the latching boss grips and pivots the spring leg, and an inclined disengagement portion.

Leak Detection System and Method

A leak detection system and method configured for closed fluid circulation systems is described in this application. The leak detection system can use at least two sensors plumbed into the closed fluid circulation system to determine whether the closed system contains a leak. The leak detection system can optionally include fluid loss mitigation valves, fill valves, drain valves and bleed valves to add additional functionality.

It is an object of the present invention to enhance reliability of an allowable limit conductance used for setting a threshold value for evaluating sealability of a test object, and further, enhance reliability of the sealability evaluation. By leak testing a test object 9A with a sealing defect 9g, a leakage characteristic that shows a relationship between an internal-external pressure difference and a leak flow rate is obtained. A conductance of a test object with a similar artificial leak 9B having a similar artificial leak device 29 disposed therein, conducting the leak-detected substance is measured. The similar artificial leak device 29 has a leakage characteristic similar to the obtained leakage characteristic. An allowable limit conductance is obtained based on results of the measurement. Sealability of a test object 9 is evaluated based on a threshold value set with a standard artificial leak device 9S having the allowable limit conductance.

Passive leak detection for building water supply

A method and system for detecting small leaks in a plumbing system is disclosed. A temperature sensor coupled to the water in the plumbing system is used to determine if there is a leak. During times of inactivity for fixtures in the plumbing systems, a flow sensor might measure usage of water that would indicate a leak. For very small leaks, the flow is below a minimum measurable flow of the flow sensor. Embodiments of the invention measure temperature of water within a pipe coupled to the plumbing system. Temperature will generally decay in a particular predicable way when there is flow as the temperature of water upon entry to the building is lower than the air temperature within the building. Signal processing, machine learning and/or statistical approaches are used to analyze the temperature and optionally flow and/or pressure over time to determine when a leak is likely.
