Gas detection device that visualizes gas
A gas detection device includes: a processor that visualizes a gas by performing image processing on infrared image data in an inspection region imaged by an imaging device; a display that displays an inspection image that reflects a result of the image processing; and an input interface that receives an input of supplementary information on the inspection image displayed on the display.

Systems and methods for make-up air blocking valve with a restrictive poppet orifice
Valves, internal combustion engines including such valves, and methods of on-board diagnostic leak detection for a crankcase ventilation system using such valves are disclosed. Each valve has a housing defining a first port and a second port in fluid communication with one another and defining a valve seat therebetween. A biasing member biases a poppet sealing member into a normally open position (defining unrestricted flow through the valve) and a commanded actuator is connected to the poppet sealing member. The poppet sealing member has an orifice therethrough defining a restricted flow path, and, upon command, the commanded actuator moves the poppet sealing member from the open position to a restricted flow position in which the poppet sealing member is seated against the valve seat for restricted flow thorough the orifice in the poppet sealing member.
System and method for optimizing utility pipe sensors placement using artificial intelligence technology
A computer-implemented method and system for determining placement of a sensor component on a utility pipe. Data relating to the utility pipe is inputted which is processed to generate one or more variables. One or more models are trained, via the one or more variables, to produce an output indicative of a likelihood of failure variable associated with the utility pipe from each model. The outputs from all models are preferably combined into an ensemble output indicative of a likelihood of failure associated with the utility pipe. A consequence of failure variable associated with the utility pipe is determined preferably utilizing a plurality of weighted variables. A sensor placement determinative variable is then determined contingent upon the ensemble output and the consequence of failure variable associated with the utility pipe. Feedback data is then provided indicative of physical placement of one or more sensor components associated with the utility pipe based at least in part on the sensor placement determinative variable.
DETECTING A FUEL LEAK IN AN ENGINE FUEL SYSTEM
An assembly is provided for an engine. This engine assembly includes a fuel system, a sensor and a processing system. The fuel system includes a fuel source, an engine component and a fuel circuit configured to direct fuel from the fuel source to the engine component. The sensor is configured to provide sensor data indicative of a measured parameter of the fuel directed through the fuel circuit from the fuel source to the engine component. The processing system is configured to identify a fuel leak in the fuel system based on the sensor data. The fuel leak is identified when a measured value corresponding to the measured parameter of the fuel is less than an expected value corresponding to an expected parameter for the fuel directed through the fuel circuit from the fuel source to the engine component.
Monitoring of Lined Pipeline
An integrity monitoring system for a lined pipeline is provided for monitoring the integrity of a polymer liner in a host pipe. Methods and apparatus are described by which a lined pipeline is provided with such an integrity monitoring system sensor cable is able to bridge a joint between sections of lined pipe, for example by routing the sensor cable across the joint via a channel in an electrofusion fitting or by connecting successive lengths of sensor cable via pass-throughs in an electrofusion fitting. Advantageously, the sensor cable is disposed within a continuous annulus between linings and host pipes, and the continuous annulus is maintained across pipe joints using electrofusion fittings.

X-ray fluorescence measurement apparatus
An X-ray fluorescence measurement apparatus has a sample tank, and a measurement unit that has an X-ray generator and an X-ray fluorescence detector. A film mechanism takes out a used film from a partitioning position between the sample tank and the measurement unit in a slide direction which intersects a direction of arrangement of the sample tank and the measurement unit, and feeds an unused film portion to the partitioning position in the slide direction. The film portions may alternatively be exchanged using cassettes.

Poly welded annulus test head systems and methods
Techniques implementing and/or operating a system includes a pipe segment and a test head assembly secured to the pipe segment. The pipe segment includes tubing that defines a pipe bore through the pipe segment and a fluid conduit in a tubing annulus of the pipe segment. The test head assembly includes barrier material poly welded to the tubing of the pipe segment to facilitate sealing the fluid conduit defined in the tubing annulus from environmental conditions external to the tubing of the pipe segment and a fluid port fluidly connected to the fluid conduit defined within the tubing annulus to enable integrity of the tubing to be tested at least in part by flowing a test fluid into the fluid conduit defined in the tubing annulus via the fluid port, extracting fluid from the fluid conduit defined in the tubing annulus via the fluid port, or both.
