Multi-layer insulation of spacecraft structure for cosmic dust impact damage monitoring
A multi-layer insulation includes a plurality of layers that are laminated on each other. A detection layer that is at least one of the plurality of layers has a piezoelectric film, and a pair of electrode parts installed on both surfaces of the piezoelectric film.
Arrangement and method for detecting leaks in a water pipe system
The invention relates to an arrangement for detecting and locating a leakage in a water pipe system, having a water treatment system, having a pump, having a supply line and a drain, having at least one circulation line connected to the supply line and the drain, having at least one inlet valve, at least one outlet valve and at least one pressure sensor in at least one circulation line and/or the supply line and the drain, wherein the inlet valve and the outlet valve are electrically controllable, having control means for controlling the inlet valves and the outlet valves, having detection means for detecting the timewise development of the measured values of the at least one pressure sensor, with evaluation means for evaluating the timewise development of the pressure change and for comparing the amount of the pressure change with a limit value, and with output means for the output of a leakage indicating indication signal if the amount of the pressure change exceeds the limit value. This arrangement solves the technical problem of improving the detection and, if necessary, location of a leakage.
SYSTEMS, METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR IN-SERVICE TANK INSPECTIONS
Systems, methods and apparatuses for inspecting a tank containing a flammable fluid are provided. The system includes a vehicle having a propeller, a latch mechanism, a pressure switch, and an inspection device. The system includes a control unit in communication with the propeller, the latch mechanism, and the inspection device, and electrically connected to the pressure switch. The control unit powers on responsive to the pressure switch detecting an ambient pressure greater than a minimum threshold. The control unit receives, from the latch mechanism, an indication of a state of the latch mechanism. The control unit determines that the cable used to lower the vehicle into the tank containing the flammable fluid is detached from the vehicle. The control unit commands the propeller to move the vehicle through the flammable fluid. The control unit determines a quality metric of a portion of the tank.
Systems and methods for monitoring a tire for a puncture
This disclosure relates to an approach for monitoring a tire for a puncture based on a change in a voltage established based on a resistance of a material disposed within the tire. In one example, the material is a conductive material layer. In another example, the material is a resistive strip. The systems and methods described herein can monitor for a change in an established voltage over time that is a function of parameters including the resistance of the conductive material layer or the resistive strip, and an applied voltage, to provide an indication of the change in the resistance in the material. The change in resistance of the material can be indicative of the puncture within the tire. The systems and methods described herein can alert a vehicle operator of the puncture within the tire.

Canned motor device
A canned motor device includes a casing, a rear cover and a leak detector. The rear cover has a main body portion having a cover end wall, and an extended disk portion cooperating with the main body portion to define an accommodating space. The casing and the rear cover cooperatively define an annular groove, a liquid-receiving space and a plurality of guiding grooves therebetween. The leak detector is disposed on one side of the cover end wall opposite to the liquid-receiving space for detecting a change in electrostatic capacity between the leak detector and the liquid-receiving space. The annular groove communicates with the liquid-receiving space, the accommodating space and each of the guiding grooves.

LEAK DETECTOR ON MOVABLE MEDICAL DEVICE
A leak detector is provided that is incorporated into the wheels of a moveable medical device and/or cart or cabinet therefor. By incorporating a leak detector into the wheels themselves of the movable medical device, the leak detector, despite movement of the medical device, is suitably located to locate leaks with respect to the medical device at all times and requires no additional setup. The leak detector can further be tested by and interface with the moveable medical device to ensure the leak detector is in working condition and provide a convenient interface for a user. Additionally, by using this technology on each of the multiple wheels of a moveable medical device, the detectable area may be bigger than a leak detector at only one location.
