OUTERWEAR
The present invention provides an outerwear that offers a slender silhouette to a wearer with a light weight and a high degree of protection against cold. The outerwear (1) of the present invention includes a front (10), a back (11), sleeve parts (12), and side parts (13). The front (10), the back (11), the sleeve parts (12), and the side parts (13) are provided with cold protection regions (R1, R2, R4, R5) filled with a cold-proof material. The front (10) includes a down region (R1) filled with down in the upper part of the front. The back (11) includes a down region (R2) filled with down in the upper part of the back. The sleeve part (12) includes a cotton region (R4) filled with a cotton material over the sleeve part. The side part (13) includes a cotton region (R5) filled with a cotton material in the lower part of the side part.
Textiles and garments having thermo-reflective material
Aspects herein are directed to a textile comprising at least one compressed portion, at least one uncompressed portion, and a deposit of thermo-reflective material on at least the compressed portion. Other aspects herein are directed to a method of manufacturing a textile or garment having a deposit of thermo-reflective material.
INFLATABLE ITEM
The invention describes an inflatable item comprising one or more cells with a padding material, being inflatable and/or deflatable by controllably changing volume of air accumulated in said padded cells, so as to regulate a thermal insulating property of the cells. The invention further relates to techniques for providing and controlling of such an item.
APPAREL THERMO-REGULATORY SYSTEM
Aspects herein are directed to an apparel item that promotes thermo-regulation through the use of engineered openings, venting, and/or stand-off structures. In exemplary aspects, 20-45% of the apparel item may comprise the engineered openings. Vents may be positioned on the apparel item in areas that experience high amounts of air flow to help channel air into the apparel item. The stand-off structures may be positioned on an inner-facing surface of the apparel item where they help to create a space between the apparel item and the wearer's body surface in which air can flow and help cool the wearer by promoting evaporative cooling.
Adaptive planar shift garment material
Articles and methods of using and making adaptive garment portions are provided. An adaptive garment portion is one that has shifting surfaces with apertures that shift from an aligned to an offset orientation depending on environmental conditions/stimuli. For example, a first surface material and a second surface material may be coupled by a responsive material portion. The responsive material portion may physically change in response to a change in environmental conditions internal or external to the garment (e.g., thermal energy, moisture) and/or stimuli (e.g., light energy, electrical energy, magnetic fields). The physical change in the responsive material portion facilitates the planar shift of the first surface material relative to the second surface material.
Vented garment
The technology described herein relates to vented and insulating garments having an interior garment assembly comprising an interior panel and a middle panel attached at one or more seams defining chambers for retaining thermally-insulating fill material. The seams have a first plurality of openings extending through the interior and middle panels. An exterior garment assembly has a second plurality of openings positioned on the exterior garment assembly such that the second plurality of openings are offset from the first plurality of openings when the exterior garment assembly is worn with the interior garment assembly. The offsetting of the openings may achieve moisture vapor or air transfer from the inside of the garment to the outside environment. The exterior garment assembly and the interior garment assembly may be discrete garment pieces or may be attached at one or more locations.
INSULATING FILL MATERIAL
The invention provides an insulating fill material comprising a blend of fibres, the fibres comprising cashmere guard hair. The fill material typically includes at least 50% cashmere guard hair. The blended fibres are preferably formed into a non-woven web, which is lapped to provide a plurality of layers (101). The invention also provides products incorporating the fill material, such as bedding and garments.
Soft robotic fabrics and methods for same
An embodiment of a robotic fabric has a first fabric layer and an actuator that is configured to have a first state and a second state. A property of the first fabric layer is different when the actuator is in the first state as compared to the property of the first fabric layer when the actuator is in the second state.
LOAD-BEARING VEST OVERLAY JACKET
A load-bearing vest overlay jacket (“overlay jacket”) is an overgarment configured to be joined with and fastened to a load-bearing vest (“tactical vest”) so that an open front area exists between the front left and front right of the overlay jacket, permitting a user's access to equipment on the tactical vest. Thus, the overlay jacket may provide uniform, comfortable body temperatures in colder weather, to include arm warmth and upper torso warmth, as a function of either optionally-insulated sleeve and/or torso regions of the overlay jacket, or of torso warmth provided by the tactical vest underlying the overlay jacket.
Insulated Garment Fabric Device
The present invention relates generally to the field of garment fabrics. More specifically, the present invention relates to an insulated garment fabric device comprised of a front layer, a rear layer and a middle layer between the front and rear layer. The front and rear layers are preferably manufactured from a fabric material. The middle layer is preferably manufactured from an insulated material such as, but not limited to, biaxially-oriented polyethylene terephthalate or heat conducting-foil. The front and rear layers may further be comprised of indicia and may be infused with a plurality of compounds. In addition, the device is comprised of a method of manufacture and use, wherein the device can be used to make garments and other objects such as, but not limited to: blankets.
