VARIABLE GARMENTS
A thermally adaptive garment comprising one or more adaptive garment sections. Each of the one or more adaptive garment sections comprises a pouch defined by a first and second pouch side, the pouch having a front edge and rear edge, the pouch defining a front pouch opening at the front edge and a rear pouch opening at the rear edge, the front and rear pouch openings operable to assume an open and closed configuration, the first and second pouch sides of the pouch defining an internal pouch cavity between the first and second pouch sides. Each of the one or more adaptive garment sections also comprises a lofting layer disposed within the internal pouch cavity.
Baseball or softball batting glove
A batting glove for baseball or softball may include a glove base and a reinforcement layer set. The glove base may include a palmar region, a dorsal region located on an opposite exterior side of the batting glove from the palmar region, a plurality of finger regions, a wrist region at a bottom of the glove base, and an ulnar border region. The ulnar border region may be located along an outermost edge region of the glove base following a length of the little finger region along an outermost side of the little finger region. The reinforcement layer set may be connected to and exterior of the glove base in a manner that covers at least a portion of each of (a) the palmar region, (b) the ulnar border region, and (c) the dorsal region.
HOOD INCLUDING PARTICLE BARRIER
Disclosed are protective hoods including particle barrier layers to reduce or prevent penetration of the hoods by particulates in the environment of a wearer. The particle barrier layer of a hood is accessible when the hood is intact. A hood described herein optionally includes an aperture for accessing the particle barrier layer. A hood described herein optionally includes a face opening that engages with a face mask to form a protective seal. A hood described herein optionally includes a visual indicator to indicate when the hood is properly positioned with respect to a face mask.
TEXTILES AND GARMENTS HAVING THERMOREFLECTIVE MATERIAL
Aspects herein are directed to a textile or comprising at least one compressed portion, at least one uncompressed portion, and a deposit of thermo-reflective material on at least the compressed portion. Other aspects herein are directed to a method of manufacturing a textile or garment having a deposit of thermo-reflective material.
Adaptive planar shift garment material
Articles and methods of using and making adaptive garment portions are provided. An adaptive garment portion is one that has shifting surfaces with apertures that shift from an aligned to an offset orientation depending on environmental conditions/stimuli. For example, a first surface material and a second surface material may be coupled by a responsive material portion. The responsive material portion may physically change in response to a change in environmental conditions internal or external to the garment (e.g., thermal energy, moisture) and/or stimuli (e.g., light energy, electrical energy, magnetic fields). The physical change in the responsive material portion facilitates the planar shift of the first surface material relative to the second surface material.
APPAREL THERMO-REGULATORY SYSTEM
Aspects herein are directed to an apparel item that promotes thermo-regulation through the use of engineered openings, venting, and/or stand-off structures. In exemplary aspects, 20-45% of the apparel item may comprise the engineered openings. Vents may be positioned on the apparel item in areas that experience high amounts of air flow to help channel air into the apparel item. The stand-off structures may be positioned on an inner-facing surface of the apparel item where they help to create a space between the apparel item and the wearer's body surface in which air can flow and help cool the wearer by promoting evaporative cooling.
Climbing gloves
There is provided an open-palmed glove. The glove includes a first layer of material. The glove includes a second layer of material coupled to and extending about peripheral portions of the first layer of the material. There is also provided an open-palmed glove comprising a single material in the form of one of leather, leather suede, synthetic leather, and microfiber, with a lining coupled to said single material and forming an aperture aligned with the back of the glove. There is yet further provided use of an open-palmed glove for rock climbing. The glove consists of a single material on the back thereof. The single material touches both the hand and a rock that is being climbed. There is yet additionally provided a kit comprising a plurality of pairs of rock-climbing gloves of different sizes, each having its own color which corresponds to a color of a camming device.
Cooling apparatus
The system comprises a cooling garment that is intended to cool the user of the garment. In one embodiment, the cooling garment is worn under a body armor. In one embodiment, the cooling garment is worn under any other garment or in any situation or environment where the user desires a cooling effect. In one embodiment the cooling garment comprises an outer layer and an inner layer. The inner layer has a plurality of perforations that allow air to flow therethrough. The outer layer is solid, so that air is urged toward the perforations and does not exit the garment away from the user, but instead towards the user. A flexible hose is coupled between the first and second layer and extends outward from the garment. The hose terminates in a quick release coupling that allows it to be removably attached to an air source, such as from a pump or other cooling system. In one embodiment, the quick release coupling is magnetic and is detached by pulling on the coupling or by the user of the cooling garment stepping away from the connection. In one embodiment, the system is used in a vehicle with a pump coupled to the electrical system of the vehicle.
Sound insulation structure for a garment
A sound insulation structure for a garment is disclosed. The sound insulation structure includes a first layer comprising a sound absorbing material, and a second layer configured to be at least one of sound reflecting and sound diffusing.
TEXTILE STRUCTURE
A textile structure is provided, including a water swellable layer and a water permeable film layer. The water swellable layer has a first surface and a second surface opposite to each other, and has at least one fixing portion, at least one movable sheet and at least one incision which passes through the first surface and the second surface. The water permeable film layer is disposed on the second surface of the water swellable layer corresponding to the movable sheet, wherein at least part of the water permeable film layer extends to the incision. The movable sheet curls and stretches away from the second surface due to water swellable properties when the water swellable layer absorbs water, so as to form apertures in the water swellable layer.
