SCALED COMPOSITE STRUCTURE
A scaled composite structure (200) comprises a flexible base layer arrangement (204) and a plurality of three-dimensional (3D) scales (202A-N) attached to the flexible base layer arrangement. The plurality of 3D scales within the scaled composite structure overlap with each other when the scaled composite structure is placed on a planar surface. A range of motion of the scaled composite structure is controlled through a size and a shape of each of the plurality of 3D scales such that the plurality of 3D scales are intersecting with each other when a limit of the range of motion is applied to the scaled composite structure, to provide a mechanical interlocking effect.
MODULAR TURNOUT GEAR WITH FULL BODY BARRIER GARMENT
A modular turnout personal protective garment is described that includes a full body barrier garment fabricated from a moisture barrier layer. The full body barrier garment may optionally be worn alone or under one or more of a separate jacket and trouser portion. The jacket and trouser portion are fabricated from an abrasion resistant layer and a thermal insulation layer and are configured to be worn over the moisture barrier full body barrier garment layer.
MULTI-THREAT PROTECTION COMPOSITE
A multi-threat protection composite containing at least 15 textile layers having an upper and lower surface and a non-blocking pressure sensitive adhesive (NonB-PSA) composition on at least the upper surface of each textile layer. The NonB-PSA coating contains a pressure sensitive adhesive and a plurality of first inorganic particles, wherein the ratio by weight of the first inorganic particles to the pressure sensitive adhesive is greater than about 1.2 and wherein the NonB-PSA coating is in an amount of at least about 10 g/m.sup.2 on each surface the NonB-PSA coating is located. The first inorganic particles have a median primary particle size of less than about 5 micrometers.
MULTI-THREAT PROTECTION COMPOSITE
A multi-threat protection composite containing at least one textile layer having an upper and lower surface and a non-blocking pressure sensitive adhesive (NonB-PSA) composition on at least the upper surface of each layer. The NonB-PSA coating contains a pressure sensitive adhesive and a plurality of first inorganic particles, wherein the ratio by weight of the first inorganic particles to the pressure sensitive adhesive is greater than about 1, and wherein the NonB-PSA coating is in an amount of at least about 10 g/m.sup.2 on each surface the NonB-PSA coating is located.
ZONED INSULATION GARMENT
Aspects herein relate to a garment having zoned insulation features. The zoned insulation features comprise projections that extend in the z-direction with respect to the surface of a base material forming the garment such that the projections face toward a body surface of a wearer when the garment is worn. The number and/or size of the projections may vary over the garment depending on the amount of insulation needed in different areas of the garment.
PROTECTIVE SUIT
The present invention relates to a protective upper and lower body assemblies and protective suit comprising the same. The protective upper body assembly comprises a ventral and a dorsal padding panels, a left and a right shoulder fasteners, and a left and a right flank fasteners. Each of the ventral and the dorsal padding panels include at least two layers of resiliently compressible material and one layer of breathable material. The protective lower assembly comprises a left and a right upper thigh portions, a left and a right lower thigh portions, a left and a right knee shells, a left and a right lower leg portions, and a left and a right feet shells.
Multi-layered protective covering and uses thereof
Provided herein are multi-layered protective coverings, wearable multi-layered protective devices, and methods of using the multi-layered protective coverings and wearable multi-layered protective devices.
Protective composite fabric
The invention relates to a slash and gash resistant protective composite fabric comprising at least one layer of base fabric, wherein the base fabric is a densely woven, ballistic fabric. At least one layer of rigid fabric, each having a base layer and a hard polymer layer having a special matrix, is bonded onto the base layer, and the rigid fabric is cut into strips of material having a scale-like pattern or shape. Each of the strips of material are connected to the layer of base fabric in overlapping layers whereby the base fabric is covered. The protective composite fabric further includes a resilient elastically deformable material having at least one sensor therein for monitoring of vital signs of a wearer, the resilient elastically deformable material being connected with the at least one layer of a base fabric and the rigid fabric.
Body protector
A body protector includes a plurality of outer left and right front side pad members with a flexible break being formed between adjacent outer left and right front side pad members. A plurality of inner left and right front side pad members is disposed behind said plurality of outer left and right front side pad members for overlapping the respective flexible breaks formed in the plurality of outer left and right front side pad members. A plurality of outer left and right rear side pad members is provided with a flexible break being formed between adjacent outer left and right rear side pad members and a plurality of inner left and right rear side pad members is disposed behind said plurality of outer left rear side pad members for overlapping the respective flexible breaks formed in the plurality of outer left and right rear side pad members.
