A cement bond test cell includes an outer cylinder and an inner cylinder coaxially disposed within the outer cylinder along a central axis. The inner cylinder defines an inner volume configured to be filled with a fluid. An annulus is formed between the outer cylinder and the inner cylinder and configured to be filled with a test cement. The cement bond test cell further includes an acoustic transmitter disposed within the inner volume and configured to be acoustically coupled to an interior surface of the inner cylinder by the fluid. The cement bond test cell further includes at least one acoustic receiver acoustically coupled to an exterior surface of the outer cylinder.

Vibration monitoring system and method

A method detects the presence of a vehicle on a railway track using a sensing processor monitoring a sensing system for detecting vibration into ground installed along the railway track. The sensing system includes a detection module for detecting a vehicle on the railway track. The method includes an initialization step which includes the sub-steps of emitting a first signal to be received by the sensing processor through the sensing system, sending a first message to the sensing processor, monitoring the sensing system, and configuring the detection module in function of the received first signal and configuration data received in the first message. The configuration data can include location of the initialization device, intensity/magnitude of the first signal, emission time of the first signal, and/or type of object corresponding to the first signal.

A method and apparatus for evaluating an object having a wrinkle are provided. An array of receiving elements is configured such that only two receiving apertures are configured to receive at a given point in time. Energy is sent into the object using an array of transmitting elements. Reflected energy is received at the only two receiving apertures of the array of receiving elements in response to a portion of the energy being reflected off a plurality of layers in the object. A number of dimensions of a wrinkle in the object is determined based on the reflected energy received at the only two receiving apertures of the array of receiving elements.
