A wind resistant cap has a cap body having a brim extending outwardly from the cap body. The cap body has an inner circumference that includes a front portion adjacent the brim, a rear portion, and opposing sides. A securing strap has a strap body that extends to ends, each end being attached to one of the opposing sides of the inner circumference of the cap body, such that the strap body extends across the front portion of the inner circumference of the cap body.

A protective shield for use with headgear includes a unitary panel having a protective portion including opposing first and surfaces The unitary panel additionally includes at least one lateral tab connectable to the headgear. The protective portion is sized to extend over the face of a user when the at least one lateral tab is connected to the headgear and the headgear is worn on the user's head. The unitary panel is selectively connectable to the headgear in at least one of a first configuration and a second configuration. In the first configuration, the at least one lateral tab is connected to the headgear such that the first surface assumes a convex configuration and faces away from the user. In the second configuration, the at least one lateral tab is connected to the headgear such that the first surface assumes a concave configuration and faces toward from the user.

A personal sanitizing device includes an eyewear frame and one or more UV-C sources attached to a lower edge of the eyewear frame for directing UV-C energy in a downward direction from the eyewear frame. The one or more UV-C sources are configured for sanitizing air in proximity of a mouth and/or a nose of a wearer of the personal sanitizing device. The personal sanitizing device also includes a battery configured for powering the one or more UV-C sources.

The bump cap hat has an insert comprised of flexible joints and wings that allow for adjustable horizontal and vertical dimensions of the insert to more readily accommodate various head shapes and sizes. The bump cap insert also has venting channels to allow better venting around the comfort pad and out the crown of the bump cap while being worn by a user.
