An aerosol-generating article has a longitudinal extension and includes aerosol-generating substrate extending along the longitudinal extension and susceptor material extending along the longitudinal extension. The aerosol-forming substrate and the susceptor material form an extrudate having a same cross-sectional shape along a length of the extrudate. Additionally, an aerosol-generating device includes a device housing comprising a support element extending from a proximal end of the device housing. The support element is adapted for receiving an aerosol-generating article including aerosol-forming substrate and susceptor material. A mouthpiece of the device includes a cavity to accommodate the support element including aerosol-generating article mounted on the support element. An inductor may be inductively coupled to the susceptor material of the aerosol-generating article during use.

The present disclosure provides a composite substrate configured for use in aerosol generating components for aerosol delivery devices. The composite substrate includes a first substrate material and a second substrate material attached thereto. The first substrate material includes a first filler, a first binder, and a first aerosol forming material, and the second substrate material includes a second filler and a second binder. Further provided are a process for making the composite substrate, and aerosol generating components and aerosol delivery devices including the composite substrate. Such devices utilize electrically generated heat or combustible ignition sources to heat the composite substrate, providing an inhalable substance in the form of an aerosol.

The region comprises a rod segment (16) formed from a plurality of elongate strips (17) of sheet material (18) extending longitudinally through said rod segment. The present invention also relates to a segment of sheet material for a rod segment. The segment of sheet material comprises a segment of a web (44) of sheet material (18) of discrete length comprising a plurality of elongate strips (17) and a band (22) of sheet material extending transversely to the plurality of elongate strips. The plurality of elongate strips extend from the band of sheet material. The present invention also relates to an apparatus (40) for manufacturing rod segments and a method of forming a rod segment.
Apparatus and method for manufacturing a roll of crimped filling material for rod-like articles
The object of the application is an apparatus for manufacturing a roll of crimped filling material for rod-like articles, comprising a unit (4) for feeding a continuous strand of the filling material and a crimping unit (5) for crimping the filling material. The apparatus is characterised in that between the unit (4) for feeding the continuous strand of the filling material and the crimping unit (5) there is a cutting unit (23) for cutting the continuous strand of the filling material (20) into sections (22), and in that the crimping unit (5) is adapted to crimp the cut-off section (22) of the filling material transversely to the direction of movement of the material section (22). The apparatus is further characterised in that the forming unit (16, 46, 51, 61) is adapted to form a roll (22X, 22Y) from the cut-off crimped section (22) of the filling material in the form of a substantially cylindrical rod. The object of the application is also a method for manufacturing a roll of crimped filling material for rod-like articles.

An aerosol-generating component for an aerosol-generating article is provided, the aerosol-generating component including: a combustible heat source; an aerosol-forming substrate; and a heat-transfer element disposed between the combustible heat source and the aerosol-forming substrate, the heat-transfer element including a cup-shaped receptacle defining a cavity, and the aerosol-forming substrate forms a coating on at least a portion of an inner surface of the cup-shaped receptacle. An aerosol-generating article including the aerosol-generating component, and a method of manufacturing the aerosol-generating component are also provided.
