Smart athletic wear and related method of use
An athletic wear includes at least one of an athlete garment, a helmet, a glove, a wristband, a headband, a mouth guard, and a pad. A plurality of sensors and at least one camera are integrated into the at least one of the athlete garment, the helmet, the glove, the wristband, the headband, the mouth guard, and the pad. A processor is in signal communication with the plurality of sensors and the at least one camera for receiving, analyzing, and transmitting data signals obtained by the plurality of sensors and the at least one camera. The plurality of sensors are configured to obtain a wearer's physiological data, position data and movement data.
GUARD FOR PROTECTING ONE'S NECK, AND RELATED METHODS AND SYSTEMS
A guard to protect the neck of a person absorbs kinetic energy from an object that, if not for the guard, would strike the person's neck. The guard includes a body that has a material that deforms when an object strikes it, a shape configured to cover the posterior region of each of the cervical vertebrae of a person's spine when the guard is worn by a person to protect their neck, and a coupler to position and hold the body over the posterior region of each of the cervical vertebrae of a person's spine. The guard's body also includes a first region positioned above a person's first cervical vertebrae, when the guard is worn by a person to protect their neck, and a second region positioned above a person's last cervical vertebrae, when the guard is worn by a person to protect their neck.
Head and Neck Restraining System With An Adjustable Tether and Pressure Distributing Contouring
A head and neck restraining system is disclosed herein. The system includes a helmet, a neck brace structure, and a tether system. The neck brace structure includes a neck extension that is attached to shoulder extensions. The tether system includes a single tether with double thickness terminal ends. The double thickness terminal ends have a plurality of pass-through openings that are adapted to receive a removable securing pin that threadedly secures the tether to the neck brace. The tether also secures the helmet to the neck brace and limits its range of motion during an accident. The tether is removable secured to the neck brace on one side then extends from the neck brace to the helmet, then continues from the helmet to the back of the neck brace, then continues further from the back of the neck brace to the opposite side of the helmet, and then is removable secured to the other side of the neck brace. The tether may be slideablely or fixedly attached to the helmet and neck brace.
Helmet force mitigation system
A tilt resistor is interposed between shoulder pads or other torso support structures and a helmet. The helmet is coupled to one side of the tilt resistor and the torso support is coupled to another side of the tilt resistor. The tilt resistor acts as a pivot joint allowing the helmet to tilt about a horizontal lateral axis relative to the torso support. An acceleration sensor associated with the tilt resistor locks the tilt resistor so that the helmet stops tilting when tilting acceleration sensed by the accelerometer is greater than a desired maximum amount. The tilt resistor is coupled to the torso support, preferably through a collar, which allows rotation of the tilt resistor about a vertical axis. Stops are provided to limit both rotation about a vertical axis and tilting motion within limited ranges that are preferably adjustable.
Protective headgear and shoulder pad apparatus and methods
The invention includes a protective headpiece and components thereof and methods for their use. Preferred examples comprise a helmet component, a plurality of piers joining said helmet component to a shoulder pad component and an inner hat component permitting the wearer the ability to move the head from side to side and/or up and down within the helmet component without moving the helmet component. The helmet component may comprise a plurality of fluid-filled floating plates or floats on the inner surface thereof to cushion the head against impact during activities including, for example, football, race car driving, military activities and the like.
Multi-point tethering system for head and neck restraint devices
A system of tethers and a helmet cooperating with the tethers for controlling a driver's head during operation of a vehicle. The system of tethers includes a pair of side tethers for attachment to the sides of the helmet and to a head and neck restraint device and either at least two rear tethers having first ends for attachment to the helmet and second ends for attachment to shoulder straps or a support member or a single rear tether having an intermediate portion attached to a support member and opposed end portions for attachment to the helmet.
Helmet Impact Self-Controlled Restrainer (HISCOR) for Protecting Football Players Head from Trauma and Concussion Injury
The invention is intended to protect football players, race car drivers and others. An apparatus that dampens impacts and prevents rapid movement of user's head protected by helmets. Two embodiments are disclosed using piston configuration. In one embodiment, the piston is moving inside a housing filled with a viscoelastic fluid and the other is a locking piston dampener mechanism.
System for supporting the head-helmet unit of a passenger inside a vehicle
A system for lifting the head of an individual in a vehicle who is wearing a helmet, the system comprising suspension means for suspending the helmet and adjustment means for balancing the head of the individual as a function of the center of mass of the head of the individual, of the helmet and of any further equipment.
WHIPLASH REDUCTION SYSTEMS AND DEVICES AND METHODS TO USE THE SAME
Whiplash reduction systems and devices and methods to use the same. In an embodiment of a system of the present disclosure, the system comprises a front anchor strap coupled directly or indirectly to a headgear; a top anchor coupled to the front anchor strap, the top anchor having a connector coupled thereto, the connector configured to connect to at least one rear strap; a first retainer configured to fit within apertures defined within the headgear and to wrap around at least part of the headgear and at least part of the front anchor strap to secure the front anchor strap to the headgear at or near the apertures; and a plate having a central portion defining a recessed portion and further having a first side portion and a second side portion.
HELMET SAFETY DEVICE FOR AUTO RACING
What is disclosed herein is a helmet safety device. The helmet safety device comprises a predetermined length of auto racing harness strapping having two ends, each end having a fastening buckle that fastens to an auto racing helmet. The strapping is comprised of short lengths of auto racing harness strapping, held together in a plurality of locations along said strapping, by tear away stitching thread.
