System and method for monitoring power consumption of an appliance
A method for monitoring power consumption of an appliance within a space is provided. The method includes obtaining a first set of data indicative of power consumption of the appliance during an interval of time and determining a profile indicative of power consumption of the appliance based, at least in part, on the first set of data. The method includes obtaining a second set of data indicative of power consumption of the appliance subsequent to obtaining the first set of data. The method includes determining whether power consumption of the appliance deviates from the profile based, at least in part, on the second set of data. Furthermore, in response to determining power consumption of the appliance deviates from the profile, the method includes providing a notification indicative of power consumption of the appliance deviating from the profile.

State estimation apparatus, method, and program
A state estimation apparatus is configured to extract a time interval to be analyzed from a time series of a first signal based on a second signal acquired in conjunction with the first signal relating to the operation of the facility, and estimate a change in a state of the facility based on waveform data of the time interval of the first signal.
Capacitive non-contact voltage sensing method and apparatus
A non-contact electric potential meter system to determine voltage between an AC conductor and a reference potential without direct electrical contact to the conductor. A housing provides a shielded measurement region that excludes other conductors and holds power supply means; an AC voltage sensing mechanism includes a conductive sense plate and an electrical connection to the reference potential. Waveform-sensing electronic circuitry obtains an AC voltage waveform induced by capacitive coupling between the conductor and the conductive sense plate. Capacitance-determining electronic circuitry obtains a scaling factor based on the coupling capacitance formed between the conductor and the conductive sense plate. Signal processing electronic circuitry uses the AC voltage waveform and the coupling capacitance-based scaling factor to obtain the voltage between the conductor and the reference potential.

Server, communicating device and system having function of managing power demand and method of managing power usage thereof
The present invention relates to a server, a communicating device and a system having a function of managing a power demand, which can request saving power usage to a subscriber and compensate the resulting power consumption reduction and a method of managing power usage thereof.
The system of managing power usage includes: a server selecting a subscriber that intends to request power usage reduction by using subscriber information with receiving a request signal for the power usage reduction and transmitting guidance information for the power usage reduction to a communicating device of the selected subscriber; and a communicating device executing a power related application when receiving the guidance information from the server and outputting the guidance information as the execution result. Further, the server grants, when power consumption by the load apparatus of the selected subscriber decreases according to the guidance information, a predetermined compensation to the corresponding subscriber.
Method and device for monitoring
A method for monitoring a primary variable is carried out in a device having access to a set of sensors. The method includes the steps of receiving, from a network service, a series of forecasted values for the primary variable, each forecasted value being associated with one of a series of future time points; for at least one of the future time points, predicting a value for the primary variable using data of at least one secondary variable captured by a subset of the set of sensors, comparing the predicted value to the forecasted value associated with the future time point, and switching to a different subset of the set of sensors, if the predicted value deviates from the forecasted value with more than a specified threshold value.

ADAPTIVE FUEL AND CHARGE CONSUMPTION ESTIMATION IN POWERTRAIN SYSTEMS
Engine systems, vehicles and methods related to refueling in conjunction with infrastructure to vehicle communication. A vehicle or engine system may receive refueling information including a fuel quantity at a refueling event, and uses the refueling information to identify and/or eliminate measurement or modelling bias in the underlying engine system controls. The vehicle may also self-determine fuel efficiency. The vehicle may use charging data, rather than refueling data, to perform calculations of battery life, state of charge, state of health, and efficiency in electric vehicle examples.
