Short Circuit and Soft Short Protection for Data Interface Charging
A switching power converter is provided that communicates with a mobile device to receive a value of a load detection current. The switching power converter adjusts the cycling of a power switch until a constant current mode of operation is entered with a known output current driving the mobile device. The switching power converter subtracts the load current from the output current to measure a soft-short circuit current.
Current detection circuit
To provide a current detection circuit which suppresses a change in characteristics of a PMOS transistor on the non-inversion input terminal side of a differential amplifier due to NBTI and causes no change in threshold value at which an output voltage of the current detection circuit is inverted. A voltage limiting circuit which limits a voltage drop is provided between a non-inversion input terminal of a differential amplifier and a source of a PMOS transistor on the inversion input terminal side.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTION OF ELECTRICAL FAULTS IN AN ELECTRICAL NETWORK
A method and a system for detecting and processing one or more deviations from an acceptable electrical behavior at a point of interest in an electrical network, the system comprising a voltage sensor and/or a current sensor, a measurement-processor configured to process measurements received from the at least one of a voltage sensor and a current sensor, at least one storage for storing one or more acceptable values related to the electrical behavior at the point of interest, and a deviation-processor, the deviation processor is configured to receive one or more detected values related to the electrical behavior at a point in time at the point of interest and detect one or more deviations between the one or more acceptable values and the one or more detected values, and analyze one or more deviations between the one or more acceptable values and the one or more detected values.
IN-SITU TESTING OF ELECTRIC DOUBLE LAYER CAPACITORS IN ELECTRIC METERS
A method for determining degradation of a capacitor in an electric meter includes, charging the capacitor to a predetermined voltage value during a charging period using charging circuitry of the electric meter, discharging the capacitor, during a discharge period, from the predetermined voltage value using discharging circuitry of the electric meter, measuring, during the discharge period, a first capacitor voltage value at a first time and a second capacitor voltage value at a second time later than the first time using capacitor measurement circuitry of the electric meter, determining, by a processor of the electric meter, a capacitance value of the capacitor based on the first voltage value, the second voltage value, the first time, and the second time, comparing the determined capacitance value to a capacitance threshold value, and determining that the capacitor is in a degraded condition when the calculated capacitance value is below the capacitance threshold value.
Force deflection and resistance testing system and method of use
A testing system for electrical interconnects having a removable device under test printed circuit board (DUT PCB) that electrically connects with the electrical testing components of the system. A removable top plate is placed on top of the DUT PCB and is locked in place by a plurality of locking posts that selectively connect to cam surfaces in the top plate that pull the top plate down sandwiching the DUT PCB between the top plate and the electrical testing components of the system. An actuator is also presented that presses the device under test into the electrical interconnect at increments where tests are performed on one, some or all of the contact points of the electrical interconnect. This information is then analyzed and graphed to assist with determine the optimum force and/or height to use during actual use.
DEVICE, METHOD, AND POWER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM FOR PREVENTING ELECTRIC SHOCK AND FIRE IN CASE OF SHORT CIRCUIT AND GROUND FAULT
An apparatus for preventing an electric shock and a fire according to the present invention includes one or more failure detectors that have one end electrically connected to at least one of two or more power lines insulated from earth with a resistance value greater than or equal to a predetermined ground resistance value and a first neutral point having a potential between voltages of the two or more power lines, and the other end electrically connected to the earth, in which the failure detector detects a leakage current by forming a current path for the leakage current flowing from the two or more power lines or the first neutral point to the earth. According to the present disclosure, it is possible to prevent the electric shock and the occurrence of the fire due to the leakage current.
