Safety helmet and accessory system that prevents hearing loss at worksites
A safety helmet and accessory system for construction worksites. The system includes a safety helmet that defines two apertures, each aperture being positioned on the helmet so that they will correspond to a user's left and right ears when the safety helmet is placed on the user's head, the safety helmet has a plurality of cord holder attachments attached within an inner circumference of the safety helmet. A pair of capsules, each capsule is secured within each aperture of the safety helmet. A cord that has two terminal ends and each terminal end has a securing device. And, a pair of earplugs that define a stem, the stem of each ear plug has a receiver that receives each securing device. The system provides a safety helmet that has an integral earplug securing system.
Mounting rail for attaching accessories to a safety helmet
A hinge mechanism for attaching ear accessories to a helmet allows an accessory to be attached at a point outside the helmet shell utilizing, for example, a slidable mounting rail, and to reach under the edge of the helmet shell so that the accessory is supported in contact with the wearer's head. The hinge mechanism is well suited for use in connection with military helmets that have a “bulge” or protrusion over the ear.
Hinged Attachment of Headgear to a Helmet
A hinge mechanism for attaching ear accessories to a helmet allows an accessory to be attached at a point outside the helmet shell utilizing, for example, a slidable mounting rail, and to reach under the edge of the helmet shell so that the accessory is supported in contact with the wearer's head. The hinge mechanism is well suited for use in connection with military helmets that have a “bulge” or protrusion over the ear.
HELMET WITH AN INTEGRATED POWER SOURCE FOR CONNECTED ELECTRONIC DEVICES
Implementations of a helmet with an integrated power source for connected electronic devices are provided. An example helmet comprises: at least one battery pack attached to the helmet; an accessory interface on an exterior side of the helmet; and an electronic device removably attached to the accessory interface. The at least one battery pack includes at least one power source and the accessory interface is configured to conductively connect the electronic device to the at least one battery pack.
AN ACTIVE NOISE CANCELLATION SYSTEM FOR A HELMET
An active noise cancellation (ANC) system has a mounting plate, a first face of which is configured to be disposed against an inner surface of a helmet to form, with the helmet, a chamber. When the mounting plate is mounted on the helmet, a loudspeaker provided on the first face of the mounting plate is within the chamber. The plate has an aperture for allowing transmission of sound from the loudspeaker to the spatial region. At least one reference microphone is mounted on a second face of the plate. The plate acts as a mounting plate for components of the ANC system, simplifying the process of installing an ANC system. Also, the plate serves to define a chamber that accommodates the loudspeaker of the ANC system and provides good acoustic coupling of the sound signal from the loudspeaker of the ANC system into the quiet zone of the ANC system.
Hearing protection device
A hearing protection device has a base (11) configured for connecting to a lateral portion of a protective helmet (1), an ear cup (20) configured for covering an ear of a user, and a support (30) connecting the ear cup (20) to the base (11). The support (30) has a first arm (31) and a second arm (32) each having an upper part connected to the base (11) by at least one connection member (50) and a lower part connected to the ear cup (20). The at least one connection member (50) is elastically deformable to allow relative movement of the upper part of the first arm (31) relative to the upper part of the second arm (32). The hearing protection device is movable between an active position, in which the ear cup (20) is configured to cover the ear of the user, and an inactive position, in which the ear cup (20) is configured to be spaced apart from the ear of the user.
CIRCUMAURAL EAR CUSHION/SEAL
A helmet includes a shell configured to extend over ears of a user with integrated acoustic ear cups having a polygonal cushion/seal formed by an upper hexagonal portion connected to a lower inverted triangular portion with a wedge-shaped profile/thickness thinner in the upper portion than at least some of the lower portion to provide non-uniform side loading that improves wearer comfort and reduces acoustic leak paths for passive or active noise reduction (ANR). A headband, headset, or earmuffs for hearing protection include a polygonal cushion/seal with a wedge-shaped profile/thickness to facilitate acoustic sealing and user comfort.
Active noise control in a helmet
Exemplary noise reducing methods and systems are configured to acoustically reproduce two electrical noise reducing signals at two opposing positions in a helmet; to pick up sound at positions in the vicinity of the positions where the noise reducing signals are reproduced; and to generate the two noise reducing signals from error-signals and reference-signals. For each noise reducing signal, the corresponding error-signal is generated from the sound picked-up at the same position where the respective noise reducing signal is reproduced; and the reference-signal is generated from the sound picked-up at the position where the respective other noise reducing signal is reproduced.
Safety Headwear Systems and Coupling Mechanisms Therefor
A coupling assembly for safety headwear is provided. The coupling assembly includes one or more apertures within safety headwear, such as a hard hat, and a coupling structure that couples to the one or more apertures. The coupling structure includes one or more surfaces that interface with the safety headwear. The coupling structure includes a protrusion that defines one or more widths, and the protrusion extends through the one or more apertures.
Ballistic helmet
A ballistic helmet comprising a ballistic shell, wherein within the thickness of the ballistic shell, or inside the ballistic shell, there is provided one or more circuit layers forming a circuit, which circuit comprises a power bus and a data bus, and wherein one or more power connections and one or more data connections are provided on the inside and/or on an edge of the ballistic shell for providing power and data to/from one or more electrical devices through the circuit.
