An automation controller receives UWB ranging data from the UWB radios, and can monitor locations of the respective devices in the environment. The automation controller can detect a loss of coverage by a device connected in the environment, and determine a coverage dead zone within the environment at the location of the loss of coverage by the device based on the UWB ranging data. A computing device can implement the automation controller that receives the UWB ranging data from the UWB radios, and monitors the locations of the respective devices in the environment. The automation controller can detect the loss of coverage by the device, and determine the coverage dead zone within the environment at the location of the loss of coverage by the device.

Method and system for unobtrusive liveliness detection and monitoring using DFR in an IOT network

Radar based HR and BR measurements by simultaneous decoding is a technical problem due to presence of intermodulation of BR and HR harmonics, which degrades simultaneous decoding. Embodiments herein provide a method and system for unobtrusive liveliness detection and monitoring of a subject using a Dual Frequency Radar (DFR) in an IOT network. The system has the capability to completely process the captured raw signals onboard to by applying required signal conditioning and extraction of relevant information using unique signal processing techniques for determining the HR and the BR of the subject accurately. The intermodulation of BR and HR harmonics is eliminated by the system by performing frequency spectrum averaging of both radars signals, which improves the accuracy. Further, the system is configured with a light MQTT protocol and encoding modules for any data to be shared for off board processing, ensuring data security and privacy compliance.

A method according to an embodiment includes receiving UWB data by an access control device, performing predictive analysis on the UWB data to generate expected location data associated with a location of a mobile device, determining a velocity of the mobile device and a heading of the mobile device based on the UWB data, determining whether the mobile device is on course to a passageway associated with the access control device based on the velocity and the heading of the mobile device, performing state estimation to determine whether the mobile device is within a secure distance threshold from the passageway, wherein the secure distance threshold dynamically changes based on the velocity of the mobile device, and inferring ingress intent of a user of the mobile device in response to determining that the mobile device is within the secure distance threshold and on course to the passageway.

Apparatus and method for applying frequency calibration to local oscillator signal derived from reference clock output of active oscillator

A system includes a local oscillator (LO) signal generation circuit, a receiver (RX) circuit, and a calibration circuit. The LO signal generation circuit generates an LO signal according to a reference clock, and includes an active oscillator that generates the reference clock. The active oscillator includes at least one active component. The RX circuit generates a processed RX signal by processing an RX input signal according to the LO signal. The calibration circuit checks a signal characteristic of the processed RX signal by detecting if a calibration tone exists within a receiver bandwidth, set a frequency calibration control output in response to the calibration tone being not found in the receiver bandwidth, and output the frequency calibration control output to the LO signal generation circuit. The LO signal generation circuit adjusts an LO frequency of the LO signal in response to the frequency calibration control output.

FMCW radar with interference signal suppression

A method is described that can be used in a radar system. In accordance with one exemplary embodiment, the method includes calculating a first spectrum, which represents a spectrum of a segment of a complex baseband signal. The segment is assignable to a specific chirp of a chirp sequence contained in a first RF radar signal. The method further includes estimating a second spectrum, which represents a spectrum of an interference signal contained in the complex baseband signal, based on a portion of the first spectrum that is assigned to negative frequencies.
